Peregrine Clutched December 4, 2011 Share December 4, 2011 Hahahaha!! jia ju lut!!! Anyway the bimmer deserves it big time! Typical drivers who love to divert at the very last min. I despise such self-centred driver. That BMW driver definitely was not unfamiliar with the roads; he just wanted to jump queue to get to Braddel Road. It was raining and yet he wanted to drive so recklessly by attempting to cut in at the last minute just to be ahead by a few cars. Someone who is unfamiliar with where the various lanes lead to would not speed like that. Would usually drive slower and probably moved to same lane as TS and behind him or be on lane to left. Fortunately the taxi driver continued to drive at steady speed. Had he suddenly braked, TS might have crashed into taxi, and perhaps the BMW just made it through and raced away scot-free. Or worse, the BMW could not make it through the gap and taxi rammed it into the crash cushion and concrete divider and not only TS car but also many other following vehicles crashed into them, and many casualties and perhaps fatalities result. I think many such dangerous drivers mistakenly believe that thier 5-Star NCAP crash test rating (which is actually very common and not restricted to expensive cars) will keep occupants safe in event of a crash. They are ignorant that such head-on off-set crash test are done at ONLY 64km/hr ..... not 110km/hr ! All the airbags in the car may not prevent serious injuries at the speed he was travelling at. Last night I was driving in that area and heading to Upper Thomson Road and I saw that crash cushion has been damaged. Not completely smashed. Maybe hit during last minute lane changing by vehicle driven by someone really unfamiliar with the forking of the roads. http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onem...sh_cushion.html The roads are often wet nowadays because of rain. Let us all drive safely for our own sake and also for safety of other road-users. ↡ Advertisement

Let's face it - cars like the BMW tempt drivers to get overconfident in their abilities, ignoring everything else in life that humbles the rest of us. These "gey kiang" drivers only know how to test the limits of their cars, which are predictable. But everything else on the road is not predictable. Taxi driver need only have weaved a little left and straight again to fool the beemer into taking that chance and he'll be a statistic. Roads can also become slick with oil, especially at dividers where people tend to crash. Fortunately the taxi driver continued to drive at steady speed. Taxi Driver may have wanted to give way but you notice, another car came up fast on his left, boxing him in. Different day, same s--t
75redback Neutral Newbie December 6, 2011 Share December 6, 2011 Not sure if anyone noticed, but moments before he was about to hit the barrier, there were 2 sets of brake lights (ie there were additional brake lights), which I know is a special feature on the previous generation 7 series, which under hard braking, in addition to the regular brake lights, there is another set of lights which would light up. Seems like the BMW did a very hard brake, but with the power of ABS and DSC, under very wet conditions, the car performed marvelously. Truly the ultimate driving machine. No doubt abt the car... but the driver's an idiot

No la, taxi driver admiring the handling and thinking whether his manual toyota crown can be as satki as the bmw, so forgot step accelerator and slow down, causing TS to horn him.. Sofarsogood 1st Gear February 2, 2012 Share February 2, 2012 (edited) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiCro5wGQ08 To add to this; BMW drivers seem to have a habit of making last minute decisions. In this case, it sort of pissed off the biker, and he repaid the near-brush by getting in front and slowing down the BMW. See how he drove around the biker near the end of the video. Driver has a brazen disregard for other people on the road. That's why I have a paintball gun in my car. Whoever plays with my safety, I'll give him a nice new paint job. Vigilante justice feels sweet.
