Hello,

Am shifting house soon, want to change my Panasonic TV (those big and fat ones) to something much slimmer, think my kind of TV extinct liao anyway..

Maybe 32" or 40" LED will be good, any particular brand which is good? I go Courts see also blur.. [laugh]

How to see if it is good size for my living room and how to differentiate between good and bad ones? I remember I saw got 40" Samsung for $899 only ,even got some 40" for $2599  My bedroom and son's one also need, maximum 32" to use, maybe can help me too? Budget for 40" one maybe is $900 and 32" is $599?

Sorry for the number of questions and Thanks in advance! [wave]

For me I buy 32"~37" if my sofa to the TV wall is 3m,

40"~42" if 4m,

50"~55" if 5m onwards

If your sofa is 20 m away from your TV wall, U need to buy Cinema gear.

If you are in a tight budget, the best size is 42".

I am a Sharp person.

All my LCDs are Sharp brand.

I may seriously consider SONY.

Funny, my 46 looked smaller these days, maybe sold upsize to 50

Large panel suck poower

Their backlight if LCD it will be warmer and consume more power than LED.

The main screen quality is more important. Check for pixel spacings. This is he dead space between the pixels. You,,'ll have to look closely at the screen.

I not sure if your are just trolling or what.

When the 103 inch Panasonic TV was launched a few years ago, i remeber distinctively that it is not suitable for HDB due to its size because it could not be fitted into the lift nor be carried up the stairs.

It's just too big and bulky to be transported.

It's more suitable for private properties and landed.

TV is like car... very personal. Must "test drive" before buying. Before getting mine, i went electronic stores play around with the settings of a few brands. Set this set that, play blue ray, dvd, avi, mp4, whatever.... Nowadays most brands make their sets display very sharp pictures... its like the 'in' thing now. Especially Samsung and LG, to me are very sharp.... but too sharp for my liking. Ended up with a Sony cos to me the pictures look more natural.

For 40"

Lowest price is LCD - 800

Then led. - 900

Then 100hz led.- 1000

Then with 3D - 1600

Then smart tv with Internet. - 2000+

My recommendation is 100hz led is good enough.

Sharp is good.

For 32" do take note hd ready (720) or full hd (1080). For hd ready, the price is below 500 now.

Panasonic is the best. Seldom gets spoil... Go to samsung service ctr & u'll see alot of tvs goin for repair.

Go service center see? Not a good gauge.

Maybe Samsung sold more TVs than Pana?
