Wolf2801 Clutched May 23, 2012 Share May 23, 2012 honestly thinking now... most conti cars are putting small cap turbo charged engines in bigger sized cars... in terms of the maths and physics... the engines looks to be stressed out sooner... furthermore... turbo charged engines needs to be serviced at shorter interval at 5k... imagine the maths on cost... and conti servicing package is not cheap... thats is one of the consideration when i am comparing between Japs and Conti cars now... I have 2 volkswagen at home, both serviced 15k mileage internals.. and both given free servicing for 15k, 30k and 45k servicing. until now, I have paid $0 for servicing. not the SE but a fren who drives a TIGUAN telling me the servicing interval at 5k due turbocharged engine. so if its 15k interval... than this fren of mine is smoking me.... Coupecabriolet Clutched May 23, 2012 Share May 23, 2012 bro... i'm comparing civic hybrid with jetta cos both falls under the cat A coe. but if u compare in terms of performance... u hv to compare between the civic 1.8 and jetta... but the pricing between both is huge margine... and of cos the final choice would be the jetta in terms of value for money.... Jetta 1.4 Basic 128k before discount, 120-122k after discount Jetta 1.4 Comfort (higher specs) 134k before discount, 125-127k after discount Jetta 1.4 Sports (twincharged) 144k before discount, 135-137k after discount Civic 1.6 128k before discount, discount how much? Civic 1.8 169k before discount, discount how much? Civic hybrid 138k before discount, discount how much? Honestly, I doubt Kah motors give as much discounts as VCS. VCS always give around 7-9k discount from their listed price. If can, somebody do correct me, thanks. Comparing the above.. needless to say I will get the Jetta Sports if i have a budget of around 130-140k, 160BHP 240NM, 0-100 in around 8seconds, 7 speed DSG with good economy, continental branding, design fresher and more handsome than new Civic (but this is up to individual), free servicing 15k, 30k and 45k (15k interval.. not 5k). RNS510 headunit, big LCD touch screen with GPS, 6CD changer and SD card slot and most importantly, lower road tax. Civic have 2 airbags only.. Jetta have 6. I will get the Jetta Basic if my budget is around 120k because it is still faster than Civic 1.6, better looker, same FC, same road tax, same servicing benefits, same number of air bags as Jetta Sports. The only main difference is the headunit and lack of a supercharger. I dont know how come you say Jetta have lousier FC. Jetta claimed FC is 16.6km/L. Will they give you the rebate as cash or reduced loan? the rebate i will use to cover my downpayment... took 100k loan for 7 years... so it won't make any diff if i use the rebate to reduce the monthly repayment to my loan...
