Duckduck Turbocharged February 13, 2012 Share February 13, 2012 he was well prepared for the nba, but because there r so many good players, its hard to be given a chance. Mike Dantoni did, Lin produced & the rest is history... great underdog story :)
Mrmilktooth Supercharged February 13, 2012 Share February 13, 2012 Caught a glimpse on him on taiwan news. He's fast and nimbles. Hope he doesn't have this Yao Ming curse(injuries).Anyway,I find Yao Ming abit overrated. i think he's got the potential to be a better player than Yao.. more athletic.. Yao ming is just too tall and all that mass building just made his legs susceptible to injuries..
Calvin79 2nd Gear February 13, 2012 Share February 13, 2012 He is definitely Asian pride. But if you look around the Youtube or Twitter postings, to a certain extent even Taiwanese media, there are people trying to politicize his success. There are some media talking about whether he will choose to play for China or Chinese Taipei national team, which seem incredible for an American citizen. Just incredible. If Jeremy is a Singaporean Chinese, I'm sure people here will be disgusted. Reminds me of the competition fired up by Western media, comparing between East and West European Olympic athletes during the cold war. Yeh... lets just enjoy the moment watching LIN... i mean he is not the first Asian... but to watch an Asian dictate a game is the very first time... Yao was good... but he did not single handedly boost the rockets... he had many side kicks... but LIN, he actually brought Knicks on their longest win streak this season... despite missing 2 of the big stars... but i worry for him when Melo is back...(He is known as a ball hogger) which will mean LIN touches the ball less and shoots even lesser... unless the coach runs the play around him... but Ego will mean Melo will not take it lying down... Amare though will compliment LIN style of play...
Wt_know Supersonic February 13, 2012 Share February 13, 2012 (edited) respect for someone who bunk at his brother couch and sit in the bench for long time waiting for an opportunity to play his perseverance is paid off now and of course ... he got skill and "luck" is on his side ... as kobe said ... enjoy it Edited February 13, 2012 by Wt_know

Amare though will compliment LIN style of play... that's my worry also. end of day, they may decide to opt for the more established and non-asian melo and if lin does not get enough minutes (like his previous teams treatment of him), he won't be able to continue his good run and people will start sayng he is a flash in the pan. Ssbcc 1st Gear February 13, 2012 Share February 13, 2012 Just read on his wikipedia page about how he has to put up with racial abuse when he plays, this is despite being born in the States. I'm not a basketball fan but I respect the guy for what he is doing.

But the fact that the Laker coach Mike Brown gave him compliments will mean his value will now sky rocket... he probably no longer needs to rent a room... "He can buy one now" ... am sure he be treated with more respect now and if it doesnt happen, the trade might do him good... hm... wonder if he is on a open contract though...(I think it means he can sign with any team) i am sure after 5 games, he is not a flash in the pan... the players that he played with around him all improved their stats... This is leadership qualities... (And its NBA) not our Singapore slingers... hahaha
Lucaswh 1st Gear February 13, 2012 Author Share February 13, 2012 that's my worry also. end of day, they may decide to opt for the more established and non-asian melo and if lin does not get enough minutes (like his previous teams treatment of him), he won't be able to continue his good run and people will start sayng he is a flash in the pan. Hopefully, these 5 games so far can change their mindset and let other teams be more aware of him. If the NY original lineup comes out to play again and there is a disparity in standard of games, then perhaps Lin got a chance to remain in starting 5. Karu 6th Gear February 13, 2012 Share February 13, 2012 The angmos see this abc no up... I bet they didn't strategise against him in the past few games. They're probably coming up with something to lock him out. Then you 'll have to see if NY Knicks can play as a team... In fact the whole team played very well in those games with Lin. Only time will tell... ↡ Advertisement
