The new K9 also get similar feedback of look alike to the new 5er from Autoblog & worldcarfans. When I looked at it the first time, before reading others comments, I was like, damn, BMW 5er! When I see others comments, it shows I am not alone in the thinking.

 

The side view also looks very alike, not just the front.

 

& I was commenting on how much the Koreans have come a long way. Bad move KIA, bad move.

After looking at the 3/4 rear, they are also copying the Audi tail lights design......*sigh*

It does look fugly for cheap car to looks like luxury car in certain similarities. Words can't describe, but is really yucky.. [thumbsdown] remind me of that clone Audi using mpv.

when Brand A's car designs are similar to Brand B, everybody will start to give comments which is usually negatives types but how come no one is complaining about other manufacturers when they incorporated the DRL into their design which is started by Audi? same what, copy cats what..

I believe Kia had hired Peter Schreyer who worked with Audi before and that may explain the German touch in Kia's design.

I prefer kia stay along the line of k5 which is very unique and nice,, self signature line..... This k9 look to close to bm and that sux....

I think kia and hyundai should open a new brand just for the luxury car. Just like toyota and lexus. That should raise their brand name and image for their luxury cars.

do a poll lor but not in:

 

1) korean folder - cos the owners of kimchi will tell u the good points only.

2) japanese folder - cos all the wasabi owners will criticize until no tomorrow.

 

so the best is you visits WS around singapore to see for yourself. this may not be the correct answers too as the number of korean made are not so big.

 

think the best answer is, u buy one to confirm your doubts. but pls hor, remember to send for servicing periodically when it is due.

 

At the end of the day, if u dislike kimchi, no matter how good it is, u will still find faults with it.

I am not against such cars..in fact I say why not...

 

The problem comes when you stop at a traffic light side by side with another bona fide BM 7 or 5 series...then the other driver look at you..now where will you look?

agree! people always say A is similar to B because they are unfamilar with the cars

its like saying a lancer ex is a fake evo, just because you don't know how to tell car A from car B doesn't mean that the cars are identical
