Active Subwoofer Vs Box type Subwoofer

I should say most slim underseat woofer are ok.

No need to worry about the brand, I know many branded ones are also OEM made.

Just get it and hook it up. Get two for best effect.

And die die must get the particular model with the wired gain settings. If no wired gain control, DON'T buy that model!!

This will allow you to control the bass sound easily from your sitting position. Different music will need different bass control lever.

It's easy to control using the underseat wired gain control. To keep going into the HU to adjust the low frequency settings for different music is a pain in the ass.

which type is actually cheaper in the way? Box type or active subwoofer installed under car seats?

active sub (underseat type) is cheaper..

box woofer gives better SQ.. there is more depth to the bass produced.. a 12" sub box won't take up much space even in a hatch.. still can put like a baby pram, a few bags of 10kgs rice..

It's not about boom boom noise. It's about the low frequency reverb that trembles the whole car :)

Think good side speakers 6.5' with sound proofing and Amp can do much better than Active sub.

surprisingly, the bmw 5-series i saw having underseat focal active sub (installed "underglove") doesnt seem to reverb.

you might want to note the focal ibus 20 comes w 4 "legs" to elevate it from carpet to prevent such reverb.

You are going only to add a subwoofer right?

Just go down to any audio shop, they will be able to install a underseat wfoofer for you for less than $250.

No need to worry bout branding, as such bass sound the same.

Just remember to get the model with the wired control for the bass frequency and volume.

yes thinking to replace the speakers as well. One shop quoted me $1400. with 4 speakers, 1 amp and one active sub plus material like wiring and labour altogether.
