I had a c--k.....atiel.

Four of them. Given to my mom by my brother before he went to US.

Hmmm, kind of nice. Easy to play with. But don't live as long as dogs and they just anyhow crap. Even when they're on your shoulders.

So.....I think I don't really like that. Dogs crap too. But they don't crap on you.

Owls and eagles are birds of prey, illegal in Singapore (quite heavy penalties if caught).

Kept a few parrots before in the past but they are rather high maintenance birds which demand a lot of attention. Can be noisy too, so have to take into consideration whether your neighbours can stand it or not [laugh] I used to have this cockatoo which I bought on impulse and had to keep at various friend's places because I didn't have my own place back then. Everyone who agreed to look after it for me asked me to take it back after a few days, it was just too loud! Eventually sold it when I moved back to HK.

Generally something like an African gray or one of the parakeets would be better for the average household as they are smaller and less noisy. Also, better to get them from young so they will remain tame and can be trained easily.

Why not start off with a cockatiel or 2? Very tame and friendly birds.. Wont cost much too.. A baby 1 can get for less than a hundred bucks.. Yes u can train it to sit on your shoulder.. But like a bro mentioned, be prepared for the birds to s--t on your shoulder as well! [:p]
