BoneStock 5th Gear April 11, 2012 Share April 11, 2012 how much? I am on M1 50Mbps fibre at $29 a month. Signed up during last year's PC show. I think there are some M1 sales guys lurking in HWZ. You might want to post there and see if they can offer more help. ↡ Advertisement

Blackyv Turbocharged April 11, 2012 Share April 11, 2012 Problem is most providers are phasing out mobile broadband plans without data caps. I am not sure you can do with that when you use mobile broadband to supplant for normal home usage. ADSL plans are also on the way out too AFAIK. That's why i'm reluctant to cancel or change my current mobile broadband of 1mb speed with 50G size which cost me only $11+.. I can recontract now but they only have those 3.2mb speed which cost $20+.. I'm holding on as long as I can...

I'm on starhub bb 2 yr contract, low price of $25. It's good enough for home use, even with the occasional need to download 2 GB file.

Aristotle 5th Gear April 12, 2012 Share April 12, 2012 Sometimes, if just surf net, then use your smartphone tetering, and tap on your phone mobile bb using your laptop. I do that when I feel lazy to plug in my M1 mobile BB

Yeah, it's good enough for me. I've been using it since long time ago. They offer me a 30% discount, which amounts to about $24.70 with gst for 2 yr contract. I'm still able to download movies from funshion, although just have to wait a bit longer. It's no big deal. Most of the time, I just surf. Surfing speed doesn't necessary increase with higher bandwidth plans. Even the fastest fibre may not be up to some people's expectation, as the speed latency is limited by the entire network from your pc to the server.
