Jp66 5th Gear April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 Went to the Lexus showroom last week to take a look at the new GS 250. Quite amusing, the SE bring my wife and me out from the back of the building to enter another building opposite. We were brought down a corridor where we watched a short video presentation of the car on a tv screen mounted at the end of the corridor. After that enter a totally dark room where there was a display car and the SE turn on the head and tail lamps only to show us the brigtness and I thought after that she would switch on the room lights so we can take a proper look at the car. Instead, she brought us to the next room which was lit and had 2 models, one with F-Sport bodykit and the other was a regular one. That was when I finally had a chance to have a close up look at the car. I felt it was very luxurious and comfortable inside with the usual high quality materials and the infotainment screen is huge! Looks wise, the F-Sport is more aggressive but I prefer the premium package for the extra specs that are included. Overall, I left feeling impressed with the quality and looks of the car. wow , very tempted to visit the showroom. ↡ Advertisement
Limpeh23 2nd Gear April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 It's quite an interesting experience . When I was viewing the car in the room, only me, my wife and the SE were there, so it's sort of like a private viewing session with the SE on hand to answer your queries. Natnut 3rd Gear April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 (edited) You should have test driven the car especially the GS350 F-sport. It was an eye opening experience. Driving it along South Buona Vista Road("99 curves") in "Sport Plus" mode really drives home the point about how planted this car really is. Basically, this car eats corners for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Civic6228 6th Gear April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 Saw a white one today ..... GS250. IMO, looks like a scale up model of the IS250.... between the 5 series and the GS, the 5 series still get my vote.

Friendstar Supercharged April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 (edited) Well... No matter u all say, the rich in mcf prefers the f10 5er. I don't wish to name them but u guys know who. They are the ones who can afford in this high COE climate. So what if the more common folks drool at the new GS and sing praises, can't afford anyway. Myself included Edited April 17, 2012 by Friendstar
Proton_neutron 1st Gear April 18, 2012 Share April 18, 2012 Why not compare with the M5 ah? Have u watched the latest top gear about M5 review? They have nothing bad to comment about it, saying its just perfect. They also pointed out that standard F10 5-Series versions such as the 520d is good enough le. The M5 to them is too excessive. But the new M5 also has a muted exhaust, which may take away some driving fun.... I've seen the new 520i on the road too. Best value 5-Series =D 2.0Turbo 184bhp 8AT =D And yes. I'll prefer the huge road presence of the 5-Series compared to the Lexus GS.

The GS350 F-sport competes against the 535i M-sport. Two professional race car drivers and the 2013 GS F SPORT on a winding mountain course. Natnut 3rd Gear November 27, 2012 Share November 27, 2012 2013 Lexus GS 350 F Sport "Quickly Closing In On The Benchmark" Gallery: http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2013-lexus-...#photo-5457806/ The Lexus GS has been chasing the BMW 5 Series for more than two decades. This year, it may have finally leapfrogged its benchmark prey. Rewind your clock back to the late 1980s, when the midsize four-door sport sedan segment was dominated by BMW. The Bavarian automaker was selling rear-wheel-drive sedans (with manual transmissions, no less) that were every bit as powerful and agile as they were luxurious and comfortable

Natnut 3rd Gear January 24, 2013 Share January 24, 2013 GS/Lexus ECU are essentially unbreakable. Special case is Lotus which uses Toyota engines for their Exige and Evora. Toyota gave Lotus the engine codes so that Lotus was able to apply their own custom superchargers to their Toyota sourced engines. For suspension upgrades to the GS: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/suspension-243/ HKS,Ohlins,Megan are coming out with their own line of coilovers but not sure about the arrival date to the market. ↡ Advertisement
