How to remove tree sap

I doubt it's insect dropping. Otherwise the insect is really having hell of a diarrhea! I think it's a flame of the forest or angsana tree. It's a the zoo car park...

U can use some wax and polish off the markings?

If the sap or droppings already being eat into the paint...I will use Autoglym Resin Polish to hand polish it....Compound also can but have to be very careful.

I think it may be eating into the paint as I could only remove the colour but can feel the 'bumps' on the car body.

Its not just one area leh, but the whole car, its very tedious work and might appear patchy, send it to the professional to buffer it, cheeper, spend some time in jb.

Those two trees not know to discharge sap? Many of us park under Angsana trees in HDB open carpark. Flame of the Forest, its the fallen flowers decoration onto the car.

side track abit. does any one know if the polishing solutions, wax , sealant have a life span to it if open? what if it is not open can last how long?

Unless the smell changes..if not can be couple of years until the solvent dissolve..keep it under room temperature

See if they are separated..if yes..shake well and see if it turns back to normal..

Hafta admit I've never used those methods which I found on a website. Most of the time I remove the sap and wax the spot. Works everytime, if you treat it early.

Hi bros,

 

I have uploaded 2 photos to show you the extent of the sap eating into the car. This was AFTER i had washed it on the same day. Now that I have 'removed' it with compound, the mark is not obvious unless it is reflected. The second picture had white spots below the windscreen which is the sap that I cannot remove. Notice that it has also eaten up my windscree wiper too. Maybe I will send to a professional groomer to get the job done.

i use the turtle liquid clay and works most of the time for mild - medium stain. if its tough stain, i use meguiar tar bug and remover. so far im satisfied with it removes all of them so far. my ride is white and my work place parking also have tree sap discharge so i know your pain too.

 

of cos when u see it, try to remove asap. if you are not that diligent, then i suggest go for pro polishing at least once a year

If it's organic like tree sap or rubber, a tar remover will do the job.

 

If its industrial fall out, chemical decontamination such as Carpro Iron-X or Finish Kare SIRR will work.

 

Before attempting either, try a fine to medium grade clay bar with quick detailer or car shampoo to see if this works.
