Neutral Newbie

Currently my 215/60/16 are ContiPremiumContact2.

Plan to change them later this year when they hit 2 years.

Surfing around found the following tyres that have 215/60/16 but still yet to narrow down to the one:

(a) Bridgestone GR90

(b) Michelin XM2

© Goodyear Efficient Grip

(d) Nokian V

(e) Dunlop VE302

(f) ContiPremiumContact 5 (launched in Euro but don't think in S'pore yet)

(g) Falken ZE 914 (also new but not sure if in S'pore)

Hey Aspec dB good grip?? You must be kiddin'

This is the worst grip tyre amongst the well known brands.

Very quiet YES...but depends on your vehicle sound insulation too. <_<

bridgestone gr90 also very quiet on my camry

Yes this tyre makes sense. Although someone said $30 more, the tyre longer life than Yoko will bring a smile later. Grip is much much better than Aspec dB.

DB ES501 is good and silent (made in Jap), value for money

however wef June 2012, majority of the tyre brands price will go up as announced by manufacturers and distributors

anybody tried the Falken ZE 914? tyrepac selling liao...think XM2 overrated, not worth their price...got them last year when they just came out, when comparing with my previous Yoko DB and they were good but when compared to ER300 (stock tyre) in my dads car, XM2 is just average. Drove with XM2 for 6 months and wife complain car not stable. With ER300, at 120km/hr still cannot feel it.

also saw the BS T001, improved version of the ER300..but only 1 db softer (LOL)..ER300 is very loud..especially if u have driven on a Yoko DB...its like heaven and earth.....

T001 is European release, but Al Tyres selling them also. T001 is the direct replacement for ER300 (Turanza range). S001 is in the Potenza range and is near the top range.

XM2 was for my Altis, the ER300 was for my dads Altis.... IMO (and many ppl) XM2 is over priced, especially when the more superior PS3 (same brand) is available at just a bit more (for 16 inch).

Now seriously considering PS3 or T001...or just get the cheapo tyre like ZE-914.

Dont know why asia got limited models compared to other countries.

Beware of tyre retailers whom bring in parallel import where the local tyre manufacturer branch office or authorised distributors most liekly will not accept claims arise from manufacturing defects or anything.

exactly!!! and we are stuck have AR 10 (low end) and GR 90 (high end) in Turanza range....cannot find a middle range Bridgestone tyre (not sure where MY-01 fits in)...not sure about warranty, better check with Bridgestone...

Anyway T001 its an European version, successor of ER300 (stock in Altis) claimed to be a 'recommended' tyre in some German magazine. just google search can see liao (bridgestone t001....will go to some eu sites). Al Tyres is promoting it in another forum...
