Even though the accident is minor, he caused it at least a sorry..... but nothing from him, he shouted, so minor only, I got no $$$ to pay you, if you want go report lor ( I didn't even said anything yet ) Something rather similar happened to me. It involved his car hitting my car while mine is parked. I do not have a video capturing the hit itself but various other clues/eye witness lead back to his car. I submitted my claim through my own insurance. 6 months later, my insurance said case is close as the other party denied it was his car who hit mine. Finito! That's it!! I was not able to claim my excess from his insurance. Luckily, my own insurance treated this as a hit and run and did not reset my NCD. Just brace yourself that the outcome for you will be the same. To pursue it further, you need to sue the offender in court but will cost you a lot. You insurance rather pay for your damage (then later charge you back in higher premiums) rather than pursue the matter with the other insurance if there is no iron clad evidence. Unless you have a video of his bike hitting yours, I think you can forget about it. This IS the shortcoming of the present. Just a few years back, if you hit a vehicle, you just own up, but NOT anymore. Welcome to the new Singapore reality on the road. EDIT: I read your last post after I submitted the above. Glad to know your case has a happy ending. I reported to police twice but unfortunately no happen ending for mine. My friend repair $450 only the other guy claim him $5700. Still got other charges like "cost: $700 ", which I don't even know what the fxxx is that lol. I think now it's worst than if he co-operate, he have to pay tonnes of fine. - I go to the nearest Police post to report immediately after the incident. - The following day I sent my car to the authorize workshop by my covered insurance. - I fax , call & email the TP with the reported statement. - Call and call to update the case before my car sent for repair. You still able to chase and catch him, a couple of weeks ago the motorcyclist hit my car bumper Didn't bother to stop. Unfortunate can't chase course surrounded by car not able to move. As if his attitude be better, I might settle it peacefully. thats why i don't understand some riders/drivers. Knock into somebody, come out of car straight scold "@$#@$@$ wtf u e-brake !@#!@# fk fk fk fk" got use meh? just come down, say sorry, exchange particulars and discuss how to best settle it. anyway, assuming he is riding a cheap lousy bike. his insurance could be $120-$150 per year only. even without 20% NCD (max), his insurance will be $180+ ? the other way to is claim his insurance so that his premium will be increased sky high. but i think he can get another person to be the main rider, then he be sub rider?
