Not sure abt JB vitagen pack size. But we always get Batam's yakult 5 bottles for Rup7300 (SGD1), but theirs only come in original flavor and smaller bottle, which is fine cos less sugar intake too [:p]

I know it's cheaper in JB but I seldom buy Yakult or Vitagen there. I once bought a few packets of Marigold Orange Juice from JB as it was cheaper but when I drank it, the juice was so diluted compared to the same brand bought in Singapore.

I get this feeling that we are like frogs in the well. Sometimes, I do suffer from this syndrome too.

Everything in Singkapoor is alright and everything else that is not in the first world country is not.

I think many of us don't realise that Singkapoor do not produce 99% of the things we consume.

Even the milk made in Singapore, the ingredients is not from here, we are merely freeze-drying or processing the milk.

Time to wake up and see the real world guys???

I tell that to myself frequently too.

No offence.

nowadays i take probiotics capsules brought from iherb.com. cheaper than 1 bottle of yakult and no sugar added, simply a capsule.

the problem with probiotics are some die easily, not stable at room temperature. for cultre drinks, im not sure how many of the bacterias actually still survive in the drink for u to intake.

dont bother buying probiotic capsules in SG cos they are overpriced.

Heh, reminds me of what someone told me before about Singaporeans in general being 'Island People" but that was years back, with travel being cheap and all, shouldn't we be a bit more open eyed and open minded?

my guess is that these cultured drinks must be kept at low temp to preserve the "good bacteria".

But problem is whenever i see the delivery people doing the delivery, the bacteria most probably has die even it reaches the supermart fridge... [crazy]

actually no...

cold temp is to control the numbers from exploding thus making it sour...

so its more for taste than effect...

too lazy to search... and link here

Just waiting for someone to say, should only buy Vitagen in S'pore, if buy Vitagen from Jaybee, sure got melamine, carcinogenic, toxic, radioactive, etc etc ^_^

Someone else will surely chip in and say, if want to have children, don't save a few cents on Vitagen for the kids like an unfit parent, etc, etc.
