Nzy Twincharged July 19, 2012 Share July 19, 2012 (edited) 如果是自行车的错, 我踉那一位拿钱? It is equivalent to a car knocking down a pedestrian. You don't want to compensate then the cyclist can just go to court and try and claim from you. Then it'll depend on the judge already. Your own damages will be from your insurance. That was what I was told by a TP. Edited July 19, 2012 by Nzy ↡ Advertisement
13177 Hypersonic July 19, 2012 Share July 19, 2012 When i have to cycle on the pavement.. i won't even ring my bell.. I'll slow down and when close enuf, I will just say bike left/right and when they realize I'm there and move aside, I'll ride thru and say thanks... Don't you find it rude to ring your bell, when it's the pedestrians who totally have the right of way? I agreed it is very rude to ring your bell while you are cycling on the pavement since the pedestrians have the right of way. Many times some cyclists even ring their bell aggressively to show their impatient, and they think that they have the right of way?!

Nzy Twincharged July 19, 2012 Share July 19, 2012 Ay... 自行车 = bicycle lah Think Rubbernmat was meaning if the cyclist is at fault, who can he claim from? I know. That is why my reply is the car claim his own lo. Same as pedestrian ma. If you hit a pedestrian but the pedestrian jaywalking who gets majority of the blame? That is what the TP told me. Was also told that any accident involving car and cyclist must report police cuz its same as accident involving pedestrian. Even if no injury also need to go TP and lodge a report. Even car bang car, the culprit refuse to exchange details. The most a victim can do is call TP. TP will take down the detail but TP will not provide those detail on the spot. SLSAMG88 1st Gear July 20, 2012 Share July 20, 2012 For all drivers here who earn an income of below $10k a month - you'd better seriously monitor the cycling situation. If the government maintains it's drive on reducing car population growth - very soon, the people who fall into the under 10k a month category will soon find themselves at the mercy of said drivers as they won't be able to afford cars. I have seen comments about cyclists who flout traffic rules - but in reality, most don't. But cars still make life difficult for them. Most drivers in Singapore are arseh0les, and they deserve to have their car privileges taken away - or be made slaves to their cars. I am a driver and if the high COE remains will probably end up a cyclist or a MRT sardine, as will most of you be - so for most of us, we'd better lobby the government hard on establishing proper rules for cyclists. I for one think Singapore will be great for cyclists and wished that the old KTM railway tracks was transformed into a cycling track - but alas, not yet, not yet. TP will take down the detail but TP will not provide those detail on the spot. IIRC if a car bang a bicycle and the driver don't provide his particulars and leave is hit-and-run already. If he stops and help and give his particulars, TP will still investigate and both parties will need to go down and give their statement. If the cyclist want to press charges then the TP will charge lo. If not just give statement only. Got all this information when one of the cyclists I was cycling with rear ended a car. The car swerved into his lane and jam brake to filter left. The cyclist can't stop and rear ended him. End up the driver got charged with dangerous driving. 13177 Hypersonic July 20, 2012 Share July 20, 2012 If the entire old KTM railway tracks can be transformed into a cycling track and walking path, it is really great. Cause you can access to many places without having much trouble to cross the road etc. But too bad i think this is not inside their plan to develop the old KTM railway tracks. There is a facebook group called "We support the Green Corridor" which is proposing just that. They were instrumental in delaying the construction grabbing the old KTM to concrete over with yet another condo or mall. Fortunately the government delayed any development decision and hopefully this corridor stays undeveloped and is available to walkers and cyclists. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity and these kinds of land tracts don't come available often, if ever. ↡ Advertisement
