Blackyv Turbocharged August 24, 2012 Share August 24, 2012 Well, I have a Toshiba system 3 and since yesterday, the masterbedroom unit blow only air, not cold at all... the rest of room still normal, blow cold air... so I don't think the problem lies with the compressor... anyone have such problem before? What could be the possible fault? Spoil sensor on the split unit?..... damn hot without air-conditioning... ↡ Advertisement

I face a problem at home about 4 mths back too. when you put your hand at the condenser unit, the air that comes out is not cold at all? even when you set at 18 degree celsius? did you notice any noise e.g. rumbling or rushing noise from the condenser unit? any water dripping from condenser unit? Choked pipe?.... My case the blower was noisy and airflow was uneven. that's caused by the drum blower being clogged with dirt. It was unevenly coated with dirt so the drum rotation was laboured. I also used a metal brush to remove the dirt. the air was also not cold because the waste water pipe was clogged with slime. This clog prevents the intake air from properly passing through the condenser A Tower because the water generated naturally on the aluminium fins of the condenser coil could not drain away in time. Surface contact and efficient thermal transfer between the intake air and the coil was compromised. Had to borrow a Borsch water vacuum to suck at the end of the drain pipe in the loo. So far I noticed that the condenser coil is getting clogged but not that clogged to perform a chemical wash- overhaul.

GoodCar 4th Gear August 24, 2012 Share August 24, 2012 Simple dIY maintenance. Buy those foam type aircon fin cleaner from diy shop. Run air con in fan mode at high speed Spray foam evenly over the fin. Spray thin mist of water to slowly wash down the foam. Ensure you can see foam and water coming out from the drain pipe. Only do this if your drain pipe is draining ok.

Kiadaw 6th Gear August 24, 2012 Share August 24, 2012 Your place needs heater. LOL... Not in the summer, & we have hot days as well. Last week, is record for the year I think. 33-35 degree I think. I have also played football at aound 30 deg twice. Almost going to died, as its not only hot, but also dry. You feel very hot, but no sweat, & mouth & hands very dry. The type of heat need to get used too. Summer also bring new inhabitants, like mosquito! Thankfully, they are active for like 3-4 days only. Now they are gone. My friend also complain, he went to a restaurant, & it was very hot, as they have no aircon. I believe the indoor hall in my town do not have aircon as well. But its not justification (unless you rich) to install aircon for something you need maybe 2-3 weeks of a year. The one thing I appreciate is warm water on the tap. Its nice to wash your face in the morning with warm water (until you forgot to off the tap, & warm water drain out over the night, & a big hole in your pocket ) ↡ Advertisement
