i just had my car towed from jb to sg 2 weeks back..... no need for log card, insurance or proof of ownership

I think log card is quite an alien concept for many drivers in singapore. Many of us don't really own our cars anyway - the banks do!

If taking a 10-year car loan, won't see the log card till it's time to scrap the car! [laugh]

Actually regarding the customs and towing car from malaysia thingy... now that everything has gone "electronic", I would think that it's easily possible for the customs to verify all the info they need online as well! Just that they won't bother doing it - I suppose.

Many govt services are still like that, though many things are now implemented and recorded electronically, they still demand hard copy proof, etc. just because their individual systems are not fully inter-linked!

The accident part I am not aware, but Log card is the best way to prove that you car car owner, especially usefully with last car owner fine!!!

Singapore I only use log card when send car for Vicom inspection and other use?

Many people are using other person name, so sometimes log card also cannot 100% proven that you are the car owner. Although the car is drive, use and pay by the person, but the car itself is register using other person name, like spouse, sibling or parents.

But now no more hard copy of log card, so whether your car loan is 10 year or 5 year, you still unable to see a 'hard copy' of your log card. :p
