Insurance for new car

Hi guys

just to gather some views on motor insurance for a new car. What insurance type would be advisable? Those which covers servicing at any workshops or AD workshop? The latter is of course more expensive in premium. SE was telling me that it is better to buy insurance cover for AD workshop during the warranty period say for 5 years.

Any views?

Hi,

get insurance that allows repair at agent workshop. It maybe more expensive but it would be better when accidents happened.

My fren had an accident previously and his insurance did not cover agent repair. In the end, the repair job was not done properly. I dun think it is worth the risk.

Hope this helps.

Buying a policy that covers AD will be more expensive and also expensive for your renewal as well.

For AD, they do not do 3rd Party Claims (most dun...so check with your AD). So you have to file a Own Damage Claim with your insurance company...and then pending the case till reimbursement of your NCD...you will be charge higher premium cos you did a OD Claim...regardless of you are right or wrong...

the 'any workshop' u meant the authorized workshop?

imo AD better.

some AD (like CnC) won't warrant your car if kenna accident and repaired in other workshops.

if you have dbs car insurance, you have the flexibility to do accident repairs at any MSIG authorised workshop. That's the underwriter. And also if you claim for windscreen and windows, it won't affect your NCD. Also got 100k personal accident policy thrown in..
