West_end Neutral Newbie October 21, 2012 Author Share October 21, 2012 Contrarianism demands independent thought, and thinking for yourself requires courage, which explains why so few people are contrarians. Conformity on the other hand requires a certain degree of mental apathy, and the lazy mind demands nothing of itself, which explains why so many people are conformists. Our society is guided by a hypersensitive political correctness that quickly quells the independent thinker while encouraging and celebrating conformity and compliance. Those who have the backbone to stand on their own two feet and take principled risks for the sake of their convictions, stick out like a bright light in a dark room. Those who go against the common convention should expect to be dismissed as

Watwheels Supersonic October 21, 2012 Share October 21, 2012 One good example is our single young ppl in sgp. They comprain a lot about the influx of foreigners, taking away their precious job but they themselves do not contribute by getting married & have children. They have the potential power to make change and reduce the number of foreigners but they choose to echo the words of political sh!t stirrers. They seem to fancy the influence of sh!t stirrers over their own reasoning. Sad to say a lot of them are around us and even in MCF. Becoming a pawn for political sh!t stirrers' propaganda yet denying themselves from the truth that will affect them in the coming future.

Becoming a pawn for political sh!t stirrers' propaganda yet denying themselves from the truth that will affect them in the coming future. Even if all the singaporean singles get married tomorrow and shoot out babies 9 months later followed by a second child a year later and a third the year after that, it's still going to take around 20-25 years at least for these kids to hit the workforce. It won't change what's happening now and will only result in the over-stressing of healthcare and education facilities. The situation now is due to alot of factors, including mistakes in policy planning decades ago and an mindboggling addiction to GDP growth at all costs. But hey when a country's only resource is it's people, i guess you have to milk them for all they're worth for as long as you can. When that's not enough just import more, the fabric and people of the country be damned as long as the wheels of capitalism keep turning.
