since it's connected to the ignition, which means when I turn off the engine, the device should turn off right? Doesn't seem so after I switched off the engine. Device still recording.

 

Is it necessary to install the battery discharge prevention device?

better go and install the battery discharge prevention device. looks like your device is starting to drain power from your car battery from the way you say.

1. Record only at 24fps instead of standard 30fps (unless you pay additional for SP model)

2. Poor user indication (as compared with Blackvue - no voice or LED barely visible with significant meaning)

3. No in build power management. You need to get an external unit (e.g. ITV-80 or Power Magic) to do that. That would set you back another USD25

I have been following up this thread and finally decided to get the ITB-100HD from apple-ct instead of Lukas LK7900 ACE.

 

Just wish to check is ITV-80 sufficient for parking mode? What's the diff between this and Power magic pro besides the different shut off timing/voltage?

basically both works the same way. to me not much different. both can serve its purpose. I have one of each and have been using them on my car.
