Vid Hypersonic October 30, 2012 Share October 30, 2012 The law should be, you can claim from drunk driver insurance. then insurance claim back cash from the drunk driver. he cannot pay=sue still cannot=bankrupt bankrupt still cannot pay= ? This is why Singapore is the best place to do business IN THE WORLD! Businesses are protected by the government in the expense of innocent parties. Insurance co can absolve liablility in an accident involving drunk drivers. While the logical scenario is for the insurance co to pay the victims and sue the drunk driver for compensation, the illogical thing happens whereby innocent parties have to fork out money to sue because their own insurance co can't do s--t if the other party can't pay. Vid Hypersonic October 30, 2012 Share October 30, 2012 For the avoidance of doubt, if the drunk has no assets other than his car, which most likely has a high loan, you will get nothing from a lawsuit if he declares himself a bankrupt. By the way, HDB flats are immune to bankrupcy orders because it is the government's way to ensure a bankrupt still have a roof over his head.

Vid Hypersonic October 30, 2012 Share October 30, 2012 (edited) what if u take his money from his salary? can right? he work to pay u back Yes but that's only on order from the OA if he is declared a bankrupt. Normally he will have to service his other debts first before he "service" you. Banks first most of the time. Then companies. Last will be you with the smallest slice of the pie if there is any left. In a bankrupcy order, he will have to repay using a percentage of his salary. This will have to work around 7 years IIRC. After 7 years he will be a discharged bankrupt to start anew. Debts remaining normally written off. ↡ Advertisement
