Kiadaw 6th Gear December 7, 2012 Share December 7, 2012 (edited) Working life really not easy.. Last job, 8 mths. Current, also on contract base, was promised to get a perm post after 3 mths contract. Now with disney taking over, future is uncertain, most likely to be extend to a total of 9 mths contract.. When in june, got to plan again.. You work at Lucusart? What do you do? Gaming industry is very volitale (spelling?), thats why I never jumped in. Just do my CG art in my free time, & get a steady salary. My current job is not too bad anyway. I guess many people dont want to pay more than $500. Unless the person is some senior position or high management.

13177 Hypersonic December 7, 2012 Share December 7, 2012 Thanks for your concerns brother. I already have a job, just serving my time here before I move to the other side. Err...$100-200? For that amount you jump? Good for you, found a job and jump. I think depends on the opportunity and the new job found, if there is an improve on my career growth, knowledge and skills, even $100-200 i also jump. Esp if the current job no future. Sometimes you need to take that step out in order to grow, not always because of salary. But if you able to find a new job that can add value to your portfolio, and at the sametime pay increase of $500 or more, then good for you lo. Many worry about the job n future. For me, still ok as I'm a one man team. Just contact doesn't get any benefits
Noctis Neutral Newbie December 7, 2012 Share December 7, 2012 are you already certified as an instructor?? under SSI or Padi? Not yet mate, Planning to do my DM course somewhere (free, sign contract, work for them after for a few months, save the cash), then move on to instructor in another country. Philippines I guess. A total of about 1 year here, from then on it's working at dive resorts for awhile, save up a bit of money, move on to the next location. All done with just a backpack and little money, if I can get free accommodation while working around, best, make friends with other travelers and backpackers, bunk in together with em to split costs of inns. I guess, I won't earn a lot of money, but then again, at such remote places, money isn't needed also, and I enjoy what I do, dive, sport climbing at cliffs and mountains. oh and, the women from all over the globe. Noctis Neutral Newbie December 7, 2012 Share December 7, 2012 Not mad, just not what typical Singaporean will do. true, I looked at all around me, all stuck in the rat race.... buying material goods to make themselves happy....... sigh... Nothing wrong with that, but not my idea of spending my limited time here on earth. The moment they open their mouths to talk, it's all education, business, work, money, luxury cars, hotels and goods. Turn off really. Makes one think, there has to be a much more meaningful and colorful experience to life other than these isn't it.

I'm just so sick and tired of the crap here. 2yr contract renewable, but who cares, 25% increase plus perks. 2yrs don't renew I couldn't be bothered either, time to take a back seat. Sosaria Twincharged December 7, 2012 Share December 7, 2012 (edited) Not mad, just not what typical Singaporean will do. Well, if not married and with no kids or commitment, I'd do that too! But raising kids is also an adventure, and a rewarding experience, just live diving, mountain-climbing, whatever - if only people would look at it and approach it the right way. Hence the reason why I'm putting off work and education first, while I'm still young, travel and see the world, pick up different cultures and languages. make more friends too, from different ethnicity and races. Hey who knows, I might end up with a french, spanish or some european chick that's as adventurous as me, and have adventurous babies together. For now, I don't see myself marrying a singaporean lady.
