Nullifi3d 4th Gear January 25, 2013 Share January 25, 2013 (edited) Does a bread and butter car suffice for daily travelling with 4 adults inside? In Singapore, torque matters. So yes, 100 bhp is enough coupled with 146Nm torque. I was quite satisfied with my previous Ford Focus Mk1 100bhp in SG roads as well as NSH. Pisces69 6th Gear January 25, 2013 Share January 25, 2013 Does a bread and butter car suffice for daily travelling with 4 adults inside? Why not? My optra estate us 107bhp n i sometimes hv 5-6 pple in my car even. Climb cp slope or pick-up wh other cars at traffic light also easy. More important is what is yr torque? Good torque can get u moving off fm standstill or accelerate quickly even. Even 1lit cars nowadays can carry 4 adults quite easily. Just press e accelerator harder only. Some drivers like so scared to floor it thinking e engine explode or wheels fly off. Hahaha.

Kiadaw 6th Gear January 25, 2013 Share January 25, 2013 Yes enough for Singapore everyday driving. even in msia also no problem to reach 110-120km/h. In our flat country & slow speed, its not an issue. Beside, you (TS) wouldn't have 4 adults often right?

Kweechang 1st Gear January 25, 2013 Share January 25, 2013 Does a bread and butter car suffice for daily travelling with 4 adults inside? I am happy with my 1.6L Ford Focus @ 100bhp. No problem travel @ 90 km/h in Singapore. This car can travel up to 130 km/h with 4 persons and luggages in Malaysia NSHW. Did not try any speed above 130km/h. Safety first. BTW, my old Toyoda Corolla also 100bhp. It also perform very well for the past 9+ years. Ever try 140 km/h @ NSHW, still OK.
