How does one go about the selection? It seems that flower crabs with subpar waterlogged flesh are very common.

The lives one from yishun dam kellongs. Must reserve. Cannot select, take everything. Go home, throw into huge pot of boiling water. Sedap.

I wouldn't touch those that hail from the Johor Straits just overlooking Pasir Gudang to be honest. the wet market near Church of Lady Star of the Sea always have fellas peddling crabs from Styrofoam boxes near the entrance of the wet market thoroughfare.

 

Now I think of it, maybe they source their catch from Yishun Dam too! [dead]

Just like I watch Deadliest Catch. Always end of season, the crew sit ard a table eating a mountain of king crabs. [:p]

you tried buying Sheng Siong before? I bought one Boston lobster from the Checkpoint branch. NB buay chee one. And one would have thought alive and kicking one wont be too bad.
