Mandrew 1st Gear May 15, 2014 Share May 15, 2014 For sharing..... Drove to KL to do a Glassglow (by Sierraglow) coating for my ride. RM1100/- including all glass complimentary treatment and took about 7 hrs to complete.... The Car now looks better than when it came out of the Showroom... Last year I did a normal Wax and Polish from JB and realised that it created lot of swirl marks all over...So they removed that as well as all the minor scratches before doing the coating.....Hope it will last for some time..... they give 5 yrs warranty... let's see... They have a dealer in Singapore alos but I saw the price is more than double....
Shorty Turbocharged May 15, 2014 Share May 15, 2014 looks like abs sensor is a common prob. i went to hawk tayar n they checked, confirm sensor needs replacement. n my airbag prob, they cant rectify cos they said only proton can do it. end up i didnt replace the abs sensor as well cos thinking of doing both at proton. Changing of ABS Sensor won't take much time. Last time I went to Langkasuka around 7:45am (1st vehicle in SC) and they completed and gave me soon after 8:30am. What was wrong with the Airbag? If you can go early (means, to reach there around 7:30am) then no need for appointment. Usually the staff will come around 7:45am... Pls see the address below... EON Proton @ Johor Bharu No. 60, Jalan Langkasuka, Larkin Industrial Estate, 80350, Johor Bharu, Johor 80350, Malaysia The recent Service order sheet shows as Proton Edar Sdn Bhd.... So not sure whether it is EON or EDAR... but anyway it is an authorised Proton SC as they valued the Warranty for my vehicle and changed the ABS sensor under Warranty. Since you have done Balancing 3 times, I don't think it is due to Wheel Balancing.... and it may not go in Speed Balancing also... Did they use the Exora model itself when they done the Balancing? I used to carry out the Balancing at Permas Jaya. One which is near to the KFC along Jalan Permas 10. But they don't have Speed Balancing. Maybe you can get it also checked at the SC. Meganut 2nd Gear May 31, 2014 Share May 31, 2014 Get the power steering kit from spare parts shops then pay workshops rm60-200 (depends how complicated) for installation, might be half price if you do it this way Hi All, recently I went to Larkin for servicing and they told me that my Exora power sterring got leakage and it will cost about RM$1600 to fix it. Anyone, got this issues and got it fixed outside for a much lower price? please help, thanks alot.
Meganut 2nd Gear May 31, 2014 Share May 31, 2014 (edited) Bro do go to a trust worthy mechanic with diagnosis tools like mine in jb... Proton charges me RM60 to run this for me (consultation fee and man hours) perodua charges me rm40 cos i know the SA there, SG charge me $40 for it. its a simple plug and play.... and just to read error sounds pretty expensive to me... im thankful my workshop does it for me for free cos i regular customer to clear off error codes the last time i had some issues with my car, other workshops in jb they can do the repair then end up i need to go back agent to pay money to clear off error code... For your case, maybe you might want to get the spare parts from spare part shops and get a workshop to fix for you... The price difference can be drastic... i bought all my engine oil, filters, all the different belts, water pump etc to do a full major servicing then get workshop to install, all in cost me less than rm700 with labour etc and the same job 1.5 years ago cost me rm920 at perodua agent... can save quite a fair bit.... but do some homework and find out first... it might not always be cheaper..m For your vibration problem, do consider doing a wheel alignment not just balancing... our 8 month old car which we bought brand new and we change to new tyres when the tyres were 1 month old, we ran the car on NSH and experience strong vibration at high speed when we went kl for a wedding, came back, that 1 month old tyre was out of alignment and had uneven wear so had to get it replaced... people mostly overlook wheel alignment... Also do make an effort to change your brake oil, coolant, power steering wheel oil and gearbox oil at least once a year do it every year end then easier to keep track.. these oils cost abt rm60-100, not particularly expensive but change it at least once a year to protect your car from problems (my friend drove his nissan sunny for 5-6 yrs never change atf before, now gearbox damage gotta replace) do take sometime find a reliable mechanic to run the diagnosis test for u and advise you before changing... my mech usually will clear the code and see if the error comes back if it does then change looks like abs sensor is a common prob. i went to hawk tayar n they checked, confirm sensor needs replacement. n my airbag prob, they cant rectify cos they said only proton can do it. end up i didnt replace the abs sensor as well cos thinking of doing both at proton. Shorty Turbocharged June 1, 2014 Share June 1, 2014 For my abs, error code was cleared, but came back. So im sure the abs is really spoilt. For my airbag, i hv to go another shop or proton itself. U hv any shop to recommend? I dont hv any regular workshop as i hardly visit them. The vibration is of more concern to me. Really don like the feeling of vibrating car. But u aid alignment? I tot if alignment prob the car will move to the sides? Nvr heard anyone suffering fm vibration cos of alignment. Pls recommend a shop i can go to for this prob. Meganut 2nd Gear June 1, 2014 Share June 1, 2014 Let me see if i can get the addresses for you to go to... cos i auto pilot mode now... you prefer enter 1st link or 2nd link? so that i can give u the address of the spare part shops as well... yes alignment off will move to one side... but if you drive fast enough on a wheel that is off you might get vibration or sometimes hear a strange sound... maybe cos i quite sensitive to sounds and i don't like vibration noise including those from the phone... yours might not be alignment problem but could be something else but since you were already doing balancing, should also do alignment while at it... for your vibration sound, its hard to determine... our car had the alignment slightly off and it produced a strange sound which i didnt like For my abs, error code was cleared, but came back. So im sure the abs is really spoilt. For my airbag, i hv to go another shop or proton itself. U hv any shop to recommend? I dont hv any regular workshop as i hardly visit them. Shorty Turbocharged June 2, 2014 Share June 2, 2014 If thats the case then im not sure if it has to do with a rim or tyre being defective.. did you go back to the seller? yeah i did. all they did was do another balancing. n since those r new rims n tyres, dont think it warped. I cant find the name card of the spare part shop. Later i go my car see have or not, if dun have i will try ask from my friend if not give it to you tmrw when i go jb for meeting, will try to swing by...
