Brobear 2nd Gear July 29, 2014 Share July 29, 2014 How is Proton Exora ? Can the car owner share with you ? Did you regret buying this car ? It is the most affordable mpv in the market. No complain here. So far I have no regrets getting the Exora bold. I also owns a Toyota Altis. The Exora definately has more power compare to my Altis. Better driving perspective as seating is highier. Simply love the cruise control when I drive long distance up north. ↡ Advertisement
Boleh Neutral Newbie July 30, 2014 Share July 30, 2014 Hi All, I went to Larkin Service Centre on 21 Jul. While I aimed to reach before 8am, a series of events and wrong turn means I only reach around 9.30am. The recep lady was very kind to take in my case although a sign is shown that their slots are full. I just have to wait till 4.30pm.... However, they somehow put my car in priority and got it returned to me by 12.30am... Mind you, it was for 40k servicing so many parts have to be changed... I am really impressed!!! Here is a break down of cost I paid: Air Filter: RM35.51 Labour: RM120.00 (subjected to taxes) Syntium 1000 15W/50 4L: RM195.00 Oil Filter: RM12.22 Radiator Coolant: RM31.00 Brake Fluid: RM21.84 Antibac: RM19.80 Complete Fuel System Cleaner: 35.71 Tutela CVT Oil: RM200 Total (after tax): RM678.30 I complained about difficulty starting and call stalling when changing D to R (and vice versa). They only did a reset of the software... Overall, very satisfied with the servicing and turnaround time. Of course, very happy with the price! Hope this helps! :) Hi! After reset of software, is the problem of difficult starting still there?
Mandrew 1st Gear July 30, 2014 Share July 30, 2014 How is Proton Exora ? Can the car owner share with you ? Did you regret buying this car ? Driving Exora for the last 4 and a half yrs (2.5yrs CPS and 2 plus yrs CFE). Prior to this owned Suzuki, Nissan Sunny and Kia Cerato. I enjoy this car.... it fitted nicely to my pocket and serves my requirements. Spacious, more than enough power to carry my family (4 adults and 3 kids including my parents), driven to Cameroon highlands and Genting with no problem at all.... Got all the necessary accessories like... rear Aircon control, 3rd row very spacious for kids, Cruise Control which helps a lot for long trips, great handling, very Comfortable (even though the Seats are not that up to standard), Overhead DVD to quiet the kids, choice of Service at SG or MY, Steering Controls, 16inch rims etc.... For CFE, the turbo kicks in at 2000 rpm. Mileage: I'm getting 8 to 9.5 for City and 10.5 to 11.5 for long trips as I have added a lot of weight due to Sound proofing and other accessories. Mine is a Off Peak so I always take my Sister's Toyota Picnic for Weekdays. But somehow I feel like Exora is having more handling and power. We could see that difference when we went to Genting together. My Bro-In-law also accepted this as he could see the Exora climbing effortlessly... Issues: I had initial teething issues for my CFE, like Jerking, Dim rear lights, Petrol Smell and comparatively more noise when A/C kicks in. All these were resolved under Warranty. Still enjoying the ride each and everyday. Happy to have it and no regrets at all. Overall, the Exora CFE is a good all rounder in that category and value for money.

Frachua Neutral Newbie August 1, 2014 Share August 1, 2014 Hi! After reset of software, is the problem of difficult starting still there? Hi, my wife mentioned that the car still have problems starting at times... She is driving most of the time now so I am not so sure myself. So far for me, seems ok. I believe the issue will only be looked into deeper if I complain a few more times... before my warranty expires.... :)
SilverBullet_15 Neutral Newbie August 11, 2014 Share August 11, 2014 Hi everyone, I have just bought a used '09 model Exora CPS. I love its space and handling for the 2 weeks I bought the car. My previous ride (first car) was a Geely CK which I drove for 7 years. The Exora feels like a great jump in quality. Have big family of wife with 4 kids n parents, we actually fit everybody in to go Hari Raya visiting to Johor and it was a nice drive. Except for the aircon which was not cold after a long drive. From what i see here and in Malaysian forum its quite a common problem.
TVT Supercharged August 12, 2014 Share August 12, 2014 Except for the aircon which was not cold after a long drive. From what i see here and in Malaysian forum its quite a common problem. Maybe the weather too hot, so aircon could not cool the interior fast enough ??
SilverBullet_15 Neutral Newbie August 13, 2014 Share August 13, 2014 Maybe the weather too hot, so aircon could not cool the interior fast enough ?? Proton traditionally has good powerful aircons. The problem i hear is normally it gets too cold if the a/c temp sensor is spoilt, and misting/ icing occurs which blocks the vents. Another problem is aircon filter gets dirty over the years and is clogged. I am still learning, so I stand corrected. My car still under shop warranty for 6 months so i go back to their wshop, first change relay and then clean filter. After 2nd visit looks promising but i havent really driven far enough to test, so have to see how it goes.
Shorty Turbocharged August 13, 2014 Share August 13, 2014 exora aircon is certainly strong enough. under normal weather, i almost always have to on at "1" only. only during very hot weather need to on 2. but when first move off need to on at least at 2 cos need more power to cool the whole big car. but i did encounter the icing problem. went to change the thermostat n it's solved. You mean to say that it was cold initially and later was not cold? Anyway bring to a SC as this seems like not a usual problem with Exora. Yeah it was initially cold and after long drive then became not cold. If i turn off engine for few minutes there will be some water below the car. And then when turn back on, aircon will be cold again. Any place to recommend to go to?

Hi, I only have the contacts of the Proton SC in JB. Haven't yet tried any other normal Workshops there other than for Accessories and Tyre..... If you travel to JB, maybe you just bring the vehicle to the SC for Consultation and get the quotes. Then you can decide where to get it repaired. Usually this type of issues the SC can spot very fast.......

When the engine is off, some water will dipped down n fall below the car, under the bonnet. This is normal. I suspect your compressor isn't working properly and that causes the aircon not cold sometimes. Since its a clear-cut aircon problem, I suggest you visit a aircon specialist workshop to get it checked.
Zippaboy 4th Gear September 15, 2014 Share September 15, 2014 I have changed mine to Amaron 90D23L Battery which is a bit more powerful than the Stock Battery (60AH) last year. If I'm not wrong, paid $140 from EPS (Cash and Carry) I know this is a long shot since it been a while ago. Where is EPS? The cheapest 90D23L I found is bosch s5 for $190...

EPS is - Terminal 2 International 44 Kallang Place, Four Star Building #05-01 Singapore 339172. But the current Member's selling price is $146 for which you need to call up and go. As when I went there they didn't have the Stock, I went and purchased directly from the main Amron dealer for $160.
