I still prefer 'Underpass' then overhead bridge .... -_-

Bicycles can also ride through it. Overhead bridge need bigger space fro the ramp for bicycles or handicap ... [:(]

But construct underpass should be more costly than overhead bridge, right?! [:/]

Some say MY traffic light system is good. But those who drive in Malaysia often will find waiting at red lights is a very frustrating moment due to the long wait for the lights to turn green. That's why there are many red light beaters.

Some say it's good to allow just one way traffic to flow. This wastes time because we could have allowed traffic from both sides to flow.

Some say no right turn should be allowed while the pedestrians are moving. This is more acceptable IMO, but we have to bear with consequence of either shorter turning time or longer waiting time for everyone else.

My proposal would be to sync the pedestrian light to right turn light. Pedestrian presses button to activate green man. Once green man is on, the red right-turn light will also be on. If no pedestrian activates the button, the red man will remain on and the green right-turn will be on.

LTA got tons of scholars!!!! Will they listen to us? Even if they want to try to listen to us, when is our turn?

LTA receives one feedback per 24 seconds

I would propose another alternative.

For the 4 way junctions, only allow 1 way traffic to proceed, ie. giving both green light and green right arrow for 1 way at one time. Pedestrains who walk in the same direction will be also be given green light. There will be no worry for turning vehicles.

I have seen many junctions in Malaysia has this signalling method.

I have seen many junctions in Malaysia has this signalling method.

TS's suggestion is worth consideration by LTA.

Also, when we use this method it will take an extra say 30 seconds each time for one direction (for pedestrians to cross) in the normal cycle time of the traffic lights. In a typical cross junction, the total extra time will be 30x2=60 seconds more for every cycle! This may cause a long queue in the turning lanes of busy junctions.

Some busy junctions overseas adopt a big yellow box at the cross junction and the pedestrians in all four directions cross at the same time diagonally or otherwise. This way only one block of 30 seconds (instead of 60 sec) crossing time is added/inserted to the cycle. The added advantage is that those pedestrians who normally have to make two crossings to the diagonal sides now only need to make one! Time saving for both drivers n pedestrians.

Do we have such junctions yet?
