Hiap Leck @ sin ming for accident repairs and claims. I have sent my cars there for over a decade and I find them to be honest, reliable and very competitively priced. Interacted with bike and car WS and I noticed that WS that chop people have a common pattern: You arrive at a workshop that has seemingly good online reviews. You tell them a problem, they will straight away tell you must change part X and part Y. And they will quote a price that is 30 to 40% higher than other WS. Day 1 they quote u amount Z, on collection day, it became amount Z + $X, it is as if the mech didnt communicate proper on how much they want to chop. Take online reviews with a pinch of salt. But the decent work shops i have been to will not ask you to change parts straight away. You tell them a problem, they will tell you leave your HP and come back X hours later. X hours later if they cannot reproduce the problem, they will not charge a cent but give their opinion on the issue. If they diagnose a problem, they will try to see if they can fix it without changing parts. If really can't be helped, or if the part is a replacement part ( such as spark plug, for eg), then they will propose a change. What's your encounter? My personal fave is Alan Auto at 7 Sin Ming Industrial Est Sector C, Singapore 575642. A few encounters with them that won me over 1) Engine light had lighted up and apparently was a sensor issue common with my car model. Since my car nearing scrap they recommend me not to do anything.. probably spent half an hour on my car to check. 2) Front light had fused. Was thinking it should be a straight forward job, but they spent a lot of time trying to take out the fused bulb, coz bumper blocking or sorts. I was thinking maybe they will charged me labour fees as a result. In the end i waited almost an hour for it to be replaced, which I tot should be a simple job. They need take out part of the bumper etc which was blocking the bulb. My damage? FOC! Was really won over by them.. the guy says that light bulb very cheap only is ok. What abt the labour spent i asked.. he says he take it as playing 'ma-sup ma-sup'... I am not even a regular maybe they find my face familiar but they dun know me personally. Sorry for the late reply. I am particularly impressed with AG Auto Pte Ltd @ 10 Admiralty Street #01-09, Singapore 757695. They are open 7 days a week. I have encounters with "Black shop" too. I know the price of the item online so i didnt fall for it. I find it perculiar why these black shops go for quick one time profit and lose a new customer forever.
