Quite a noticeable difference between the Civic and Forte in the video.

Guess what? The Honda Civic you see in the video is not the Honda Civic you get here. You only get 2 air bags for Civic here. Tough luck if you think you'll have higher chance than 6 air bags K3.

I have heard about this from my old mechanic.

I still don't understand on the "variations" which we are receiving in Singapore than those in the US though the model is the same.

to keep the omv low... some of the safety features are removed, like the side airbags and those feature that is easier to not include in the standard built...

Please do not mislead the crowd T.S. . This is not a head on crash or usual offset crash. This is a newly introduced small offset crash that caught many makers off guard because most crumple zones are design to cater for head on and offset protection, not this small offset crash.

But this is more important right? Since most accidents are actually not head on crash. Most accidents only hit a small portion of the front part only ma.

The AD already removed some of the safety features available overseas like the extra airbags so that the OMV will be lower. So the results will be different if they use the models that the ADs bring in.

precisely!

as a driver, instinct and reflection will swerve the car to avoid head on crash. hence, somehow the crash will be partial. nonetheless, head on crash protection is critical too. it is car make job to improve safety.

i do find the offset crash result is valid for real life scenario testing.

The civic 2.0 FD model comes with side airbags as well.

saw this video. apparently Honda Civic gave the best result

video here

Because you cannot deny the fact, the Civic is well design and structurely well built compare to others to clinch the title. Not everything newer or nicer means better. I am wondering how the best selling Altis did.
