I'm interested in the C Class.

I've got no invite. You guys think I can just go showroom on 23/7 and test drive/look see? Understand that normally you get the best discounts on launch night hence my idea of gate crashing the event!

Really? launch night got special discount compared to other days after official launch date? but why would anyone book a car without test drive?

I've not been to MB launches but I've attended Jap car launches. They normally give a "bigger" discount (This is what they claim but I'm not sure if this is extended after the launch). Also, supposedly higher price for trade in. Again this is what they claim.

My theory is that can squeeze them on launch nights as company will be keen on meeting a certain quota for publicity/marketing purposes. This my theory only. Precisely I want to test drive so that's why I mentioned 23/7 and not the Suntec launch of 22/7 as I understand from some pf the posters here.

My AD told me they would be giving special promotional prices. Am going down to check out if prices are attractive.

yup, i was just told there will be some óffers on launch nites but how much dunno...

anyway, i reckon if COE comes down to 50K as predicted by even more dealers towards year end

then the so call discount now will not be good enough until then

but on the other hand, the chance to be one of the first to drive the new C class ...

So it is really a trade off loh...

Between C180 and C200, except engine and Horse P

is there a great deal of difference normally?

worth to top up around 4k for sunroof ?

please share your thoughs

Personally, I'm not a fan of sunroof esp if it costs $4k.

Our weather means it will likely not be opened much perhaps only evenings/nights. That said, if you have parked your car in the open sun for a long period, the sunroof does come in handy as it can be opened slighly to allow the hot air to escape. Lol not exactly what the sunroof was meant for but have to be innovative right!!

Had a sunroof previously, its totally useless. Unless its like the SLK which can darken at the press of a button, then its still useless but cool :P

I personally feel the C180 is under powered, and could do with a bit more oomph. Thought the C250 would be just nice, but doubt they would bring in many of these and prices probably would not be as attractive as compared to C200, which more ppl would bite.

I believe some will do that. This engine has been used on the previous C class, B class. With the confident Merc, sure some will book without testing it.

I got a fren did tat too but it was a jap car.

anyone guess how much an entry level C180 gonna be?

My budget is probably 180K

Recently I saw a PI offering the C200 at 187K for delivery in Sep 2014.

My guess is C&C will price the C180 slightly above GLA/CLA as C180 is RWD and OMV should be slightly higher than CLA/GLA. So my guess is about 190k before the overtrade discounts? If this is so, it might be better to buy the C200 at 187k from the PI instead.

My guess shld be $185k to $190k as BMW316 Sport is at $182k.

Keep us informed and feedback as well. Tks!

I am one of them. So far I had changed 8 cars without test drive.

I booked a GLA 200 last month during their launch.
