If u r referring to exodus, I only paid 10k deposit and via credit card. none of the PI i visited allowed me to pay via CC.

Accessories n price wise I think its quite good leh...compared to 3 other big PI that I visited. maybe because I booked during their 5 year anniversary promotion...not sure and dont really care as I have signed.

My deposit 10k also via cc. In fact it was my PI (TLC CARS) who intro & recommended me, standing on my POV, that i can gain rebate or points from various cc.. Above that, he also accept more than 1-cc if customer has cc limit for some reasons.. 😉

like i been mentioning b4, they are good & sincere. Interested buyers can consider them to find out more. Nevertheless, my booking was Nov'14. Latest deal gotta check out again.

i actually visited TLC.....their prices were higher than the rest....so i didnt buy from him....

i actually asked the guy why such a big difference in pricing, then he asked me what was the COE price that other PI bids for me?

 

i told him, if the COE is under guaranteed without topup, what difference does it make? he repeated his question again, and said TLC will confirm deliver the car etc and he started to show me the warranty by his WS and the items that are under warranty etc etc...

 

didnt pursue further as i wanted to save more money from my car purchase. not saying that his offer not good, just that im not the customer group that he's targetting i guess...

I agree that their offer is not the cheapest & could be the few higher ones. But beyond that money tinggi, for me, I got few more freebies which settle my time from looking around. Even after my ride for 3-months, I still got freebies from them. Maybe some may think cos they charged more from me earlier on already. But ride collected, why should they bother? There are many more little tinggi & intangibles here & there.. Perhaps that's service & after sales service.. 😊

PI A promise to deliver car in July and shipment in end April

PI B also shipment in end April but can deliver mid to end May.

 

Qn1: Did PI B over promise?

Qn2: PI A claim dun wan to over promise. But wat do they benefit by delaying till jul? Expecting COE to drop drastically? Won't they incure more cost with the cut in CEVS rebate?

 

Any comment?

Sorry guys, i think i may have blabbered a bit too much given my over-enthusiasm to share info. It was based on my observations at their showroom and some info here and there. Please allow me to swallow back my own words on that and everyone can take it as an open lie. Privacy is right, just read for pleasure, like reading a magazine,only 70% truth, kudos Privacy. [nod]

 

 

On the business side of things however, there r many costs vs value, and primary + secondary income streams to any business, be it importer or dealer. If the company can't manage it's costs well, regardless of size, race or religion, can also easily be insolvent in a blink of an eye. [smash]

 

On the bright side of things, sorry dealers, some bros have personally feedback that they benefitted from my sharing and the bridging of information gap they had especially when facing PIs and dealers for the 1st time. They have gotten very good packages that suited their unique situations. [:p] This in general shows that there is always much room for negotiations when done properly and with the right persons. On the same note, I fully agree with Vantive bro that end of the day, delivering the car is very important. [laugh]

 

However after understanding more on the Volks Auto case, i am of the perspective now that car delivery is ranked no. 2 in importance. Number 1 on my list is the time frame and level of exposure to financial risk that we allow ourselves to get into. [speechless]

 

I have asked myself recently these 2 main questions:-

1) Based on what circumstance or logic must we pay hefty deposits when the car has not even reached SG shores and no definitive chassis number has been allocated to the buyer. Buying paper?

2) Why can't i pay up in full cash, or whatever modes of transactions preferred to get rebates and points, the $10000 COE deposit only when my dealer decides to start bidding?Isn't this fair?

 

As of now the industry practice is still leaning towards the side of the sellers, that once a deal is locked in, the party that can easily get away scott free with financial gains is the seller. [angel]

 

What i personally prefer actually is...

A) Sign agreement that is contractually binding

(gentlemen's agreement with 7-14days cooling period...note that we are buying a 6-figure sum vehicle, even 4 figure sum insurance has cooling period, why not this? makes sense?)

B) Pay an arbitrary amount of $0-$5000 only to lock in endorsed T&C & to out of sincerity, to cover dealer's committed costs on accessories procurement & installations, despite the fact that the car is not even in SG yet.

C)Submit an in-principle loan application to lock in loan interest rates, and to prove buyer's financial credibility

D)Pay 10k COE deposit if dealer is bidding for buyer 1 day b4 bidding starts (in which buyer can check via IC that their bid was submitted or not)

E)Assuming COE bidded successfully, wait wait wait, car reaches SG shores, clear customs, testing testing etc etc etc, chassis number attained, input into SA immediately and endorse.

F) Wait somemore.......

G)Car reaches showroom; concurrently finalize on loan submission

H)Dealer sends car for accessories installations, touch up etc etc etc

I) 1 day b4 registration, or day of registration, buyer ensures balance downpayment reaches seller's account, while e-asset transfer is done face to face ( i wouldn't mind taking leave to witness that "yi shou jiao qian, yi shou jiao huo")

J) Sign Sealed Delivered

 

**The above A to J steps seems tedious when being typed or read out, as pple call it "leh cheh" however when it is acted out, it is actually very fast. Additionally, for a 6-figure committed sum, if we dun handle it meticulously for our ownselves, i think sumtingwong alredy.

 

 

We can only wish to see more and more dealers & PIs who genuinely have the financial credibility to follow such protocols, apart from marketing, to ensure an as-fair-as-possible transaction.

can't say for all, but this is the 1st time I'm facing PI instead of AD.. so there are certain "risks" involved esp since the "volks" incident.. basically shows that even in Sg, such big scams can occur... & will/may occur again if we are not careful...

Hi bros and sis, just registered my account this morning.

I have just booked my Vezel X over the weekend after love at first sight. Wanted a white but PI left one Black pending to send for LTA inspection.

 

Put downpayment and couldn't wait to get the new ride.
