Mercury1 Turbocharged September 14, 2015 Share September 14, 2015 Opps heh, I hearsay the specs are good but never really got around to check out the price. We did check out a Hyundai equivalent of the Xtrail then and they were looking for 167K (wah lan eh) crossed it out. Did consider Sorento but it did not consider me given my limited budget.... Thanks Chow! I will go and try it out and see if I can get it to work, appreciate the guide! Hi broFor item 1, r u referring to when u press unlock b4 entering the car?. Then please look into the vehicle setting (from the center display - using the control switches on the left side of steering wheel) to change the setting to allow unlocking of all doors at one press. ↡ Advertisement
Jaskin 2nd Gear September 14, 2015 Share September 14, 2015 you'd be impressed with the Sorento esp the Diesel version... too bad the took away AWD and made it a $5000 option.
Djcoolmax 2nd Gear September 15, 2015 Share September 15, 2015 Hi, referring to the 3rd row, actually I spoke to my wife again (she was sitting at the back with my daughter) she concurs on the short trip but not long trip You might want to check out the Kia Sorrento, I heard the 3rd row seats are quite well designed compared to the Xtrail Thanks Chow, I saw that button also but totally forgot once I hit the highway, will try it next time I drive up north. Please be extra cautious when seating passengers in the 3rd row. There's isn't much space between them and the car behind... so in an accident involving the rear... 3rd row passengers oh-oh. Most cars.. if not all, when it comes to 3rd row seats.. safety takes a back seat. (pun intended)
slowloris25 2nd Gear September 15, 2015 Share September 15, 2015 Bro, if the sales insist, then maybe you can check with other sales, bros here can intro their sales to you too.... paging for slowloris!!!!! Lol. Yes. Heard that. Bro Jaskin has paged me too. Given him my SE contact! you'd be impressed with the Sorento esp the Diesel version... too bad the took away AWD and made it a $5000 option. Hope you have a good buying experience! By the way, I was impressed by Sorento too, esp the 3rd row seats (has air con, USB and more spacious too!) Diesel mode is powerful. Just came back from Msia driving my mum's Xtrail, first time driving an SUV both long/short distance and this are some of my likes and dislikes of the car Likes 1. Driver seat is very comfy, overall everything is easily visible to the driver (controls etc) 2. System switches from auto 4WD & 2WD seamlessly, more apparently during rough road and cornering 3. The parking system is fantastic, helps alot especially in tight lots 4. Panoramic roof was quite a blast with the kids, the operation is very smooth. 5. Seating people at the back was not too uncomfortable, but lack of AC at the back is the main bugbear. 6. Long distance driving was a good experience, the ride quality was good and overall sound insulation was decent. Didn't feel tired after hours of non stop driving. 7. Touch screen panel is easy to use and navigate Dislike 1. No seat memory setting, quite a pain when changing driver to adjust everything again. 2. Gearbox could do with a 2 & 3 gear setting similar to the cefiro 3. Lack of power, going at 80/120 was still okay but from 120 to 140 (overtaking on NSHW) the car struggles to get there. Same applies if the car starts from stop. 4. Driver steering controls for audio are not very user friendly, could do with a better design. Comparing against my 3 series the system there is definitely more intuitive. 5. Could do with more compartments like the Cefiro card slot. Annoyances (probably can be coded by Tan Chong) 1. Pressing the unlock on the door unlocks the driver side only, need to press again to unlock all doors. 2. Car does not auto lock when driving off Btw when I say dislikes its more improvement areas, to be frank given the price tag this car is definitely value for money and a it looks great outside. Enjoy fellow Xtrailers. TC request 5K for deposit. Bro Mer, thanks for the feedback! All of the XT bros here are enjoying their rides so far! I have yet to try my XT on the NS Highway (used to travel to Port Klang area once a year). Hope to test it out soon. Personally, I find the touch screen to be not that sensitive and lags a bit. you are right, the driver steering controls for audio is not that user friendly (esp the toggle button for skipping tracks). Please be extra cautious when seating passengers in the 3rd row. There's isn't much space between them and the car behind... so in an accident involving the rear... 3rd row passengers oh-oh. Most cars.. if not all, when it comes to 3rd row seats.. safety takes a back seat. (pun intended) Yes. I thought so too. Notwithstanding so, arent all 3rd row seats for the other SUVs and MPVs as dangerous given the limited buffer behind?

Mercury1 Turbocharged September 15, 2015 Share September 15, 2015 Sorry I wasn't really paying to the FC and it was not resetted since we got the car so won't be accurate If it helps 264 km took about quarter tank, but that was with the petrol pumped all the way to the filler cap. Djcoolmax 2nd Gear September 16, 2015 Share September 16, 2015 Yes. I thought so too. Notwithstanding so, arent all 3rd row seats for the other SUVs and MPVs as dangerous given the limited buffer behind? Yeah... and here's the kicker...we usually put our most precious there. My point... use the 3rd row seats only when absolutely necessary.
Streamium70 2nd Gear September 16, 2015 Share September 16, 2015 Yeah... and here's the kicker...we usually put our most precious there. My point... use the 3rd row seats only when absolutely necessary. errr.....having said that, usually the 3rd row is employed when it is necessary eg. middle row fully occupied. And most MPV or SUV with 3 rows owners buy their vehicle for that purpose...the additional row because there is a need. to add on (the kicker), it is usually the younger ones (and also most previous) move to the 3rd row because they tend to be smaller in size vs the adults who are less nimble. Nissan833 5th Gear September 20, 2015 Share September 20, 2015 hi all. when you guys buy the xtrail. were you asked to put 50% as downpayment? Quite shocked. I thought it was 10K.... Downpayment and deposit are 2 different things.
Jaskin 2nd Gear September 20, 2015 Share September 20, 2015 sure... if you say so. I've bought 2 cars brand new so far. I had to initiated the loan approval process after playing the deposit. but no one has ever asked for 50% before car's delivered. that's the main reason why i was surprised. Booking fee or deposit.. usually 5k or 10k. Placed to secure the car, write down chassis number onto sales agreement if ready stock, if not you will get a slot for a particular colour for that model from incoming shipment.. so dealer can proceed to bid for COE. Downpayment.. 40% or 50%, the balance is loan. The downpayment portion has to be paid up before collecting of car. Two very different thing. Not easy to confuse them together lol

slowloris25 2nd Gear September 29, 2015 Share September 29, 2015 (edited) Recently, my windshield started to have marks left behind by my wiper. I am not certain if its due to the haze particles on the windshield. Any bros encounter this problem too? The marks are not easy to remove. I hope its not my rubber wiper that is casuing this but the haze particle. Edited September 29, 2015 by slowloris25

I had the same problem yesterday after the heavy rain. I used newspapers to remove the stains. After that, I tried the wipers again, no issues. I managed to clean mine with 3M glass-sponge. Bought it when I was at AutoBxx. ↡ Advertisement
