Installed the sub in the spare-tyre well or built it like a speaker box? One shop told me no amp needed for speakers and sub has built-in amp.

Hi, just to share my experience. I had these undercarriage lights installed on my Ody some 10 years ago; I was quite beng then. Luckily, I was never caught by the TP.

However, my friend in the car club didn't uninstall these and was fined when he brought his car for inspection. I had to uninstall mine as I thought it's foolish to do the same.

I don't think LTA is any more flexible after all these time. So, if you are prepared for the risk, then go ahead. It looks quite nice though.

Thank you Nextreal for your realistic caution. Really appreciate all you guys who brought this to my attention.

As a result, I may write to LTA to seek approval first. I believe the objection is the ground lights are a distraction to others when the car is on the move. If LTA cannot accept that the lights will only be 'on' when gear is in reverse, then so be it.

It is actually quite a useful feature if it helps to light up the area in dark when trying to park. Sometimes not easy to see the kerb in poorly lighted up areas. Try to convince LTA on it being a safety feature rather than being decorative.

So much difference in FC. Higher due to urban driving? 12km/l more on expressway cruising?

I was told by a shop the head unit can't have CD changer.

Neutral Newbie

I've been browsing tb and aliexpress for scuff plates, generaly the pricing is around $150. Is that the pricing anywhere? Any shop selling xtrail specific accesories?

Hi all, I understand from the SE that the brand provided for the front recording camera is Blaupunkt. Can anyone share his/her experience on the operation and usage of this camera. For example:

  1. How many hours is the recording on the SD card?
  2. Is it auto write-over the previous recording when the SD card is full?
  3. If the need arises, I could just remove the SD card and review the video on any laptop. Is this correct?
  4. I was told by the SE that after a certain time of usage, you need to remove the SD card or re-formating. I do not know what the SE meant and the SE also cannot explain why. Can someone please share this re-formating?

Thank you.

Does the 4WD kick in more often? When I look at the load bearing, alot of the load is fulcrum behind the rear axle, it most likely shifted the weight distribution from the front to the rear, potentially lifting the front wheels slightly?

I guess with 4 bikes also means minimum 4 occupants, should help with the car being planted.

What is your real life experience?

Yesterday Load 4 bikes ( 2 Mine & 2 friend;s), total 5 adults, XT got no problem. and noticed that the 4WD didn't kick in very often. Just occasionally 1 small bar ( 5% or less). Mode is Auto.

Here's some answers to your questions.

How many hours is the recording on the SD card?

I am using a 32GB card and it can take 8-10 hours of continuous recording.

You will have 3 folders on the card, Event / Infinite / Parking

Is it auto write-over the previous recording when the SD card is full?

Yes. First in first out basis.

If the need arises, I could just remove the SD card and review the video on any laptop. Is this correct?

Yes, you need a SD Card adaptor as it is actually a micro SD card

I was told by the SE that after a certain time of usage, you need to remove the SD card or re-formating. I do not know what the SE meant
and the SE also cannot explain why. Can someone please share this re-formating?

Its just to optimize performance. You can do it in-camera or using your pc's disk utilities tools to format.

Just collected my Xtrail last Thurs... The drive is pretty decent. Keeping a close look at the FC with 1st full tank. Got a feeling it would be around 10km/l.

Looking for PPS, don't seem to see anyone sharing here.
