Heng 1st Gear October 29, 2018 Share October 29, 2018 You can DIY. I bought from taobao (via ezbuy) for about $20, the Nissan OEM filter. There are much cheaper ones but I was told the quality is not as good. I changed for my Qashqai. When I change for my X-Trail, I will take some pictures. The filter is located below the steering wheel, above the foot brake. The space a bit tight. Hi Kstoh, Many thanks for your link that I bought the filter from. For Xtrail, the filter is on the Passenger Side. Please take note of this. The technician took it out from here and showed me within 2 minutes. ↡ Advertisement

Seems hard to find the dimension 225/60/R18. If have do let me know which shop and which tyre model you go to. Thks a bunch. Any symptoms (e.g. jerking) prior to the "chunking" sound ? When will the sound be audible? During shifting from P->D or D->R or R->P? Or is it during normal driving at D mode ? At which year of ownership did you reached 50k mileage and got your CVT gearbox replaced ? Thanks Edited January 20, 2019 by BengGaBoy
BoonKainTay Neutral Newbie January 20, 2019 Share January 20, 2019 More like clucking sound from the bonnet during driving. Not during gear shift. The sound becomes more apparent at higher speed after 50kmh. Anyway got it replaced under warranty. It was slightly after 2yrs of ownership. If u hear something unusual, just drive over to TC for a check. @DACH. Thks for the recommendation.

Xtrailer 1st Gear January 30, 2019 Share January 30, 2019 hi fellow xtrail owners, What brand and model of tyre do you change, can you share your experienc? My xtrail just hit 70k and i think it is time to change, but I am not familiar with all the brands. I prefer quite and comfort type. Most SG city driving, and occational light offroad to places like MY durian plantation, and maybe twice a year on MY NS highway. TC LK service centre is promoting a tyre at 160/piece, didnot get brand name but not the commom brand. what would you recommend? Thanks for your information. Try Michelin,... they quite good and long lasting.... if budget/performance is not a concern. Otherwise,.... Nexen is not too bad. I've used both. Michelin when my ride was still quite new,... after five six years,... switched to Nexen.

Yah,... I also dunno why some sizes not common. What I do is go down to my regular tyre shop @ Toh Guan,.. and they normally will order for me. Michelin, i use was XM2... I like this even though not for "SUV" but a lot conti cars use. You can try their new Primacy SUV range... if no exact size,.. they will recommend closest fit. Dunlop and Bridgestone also have new "road" range for SUV. (but I have not tried) I hear Yoko don't last long as too soft. So for comfort,... maybe. Goodyear,.... I dun like.... they tend to be noisy after 10K km. End of day, depends on your butt feel, driving style and pocket size....
Atrecord Supersonic February 1, 2019 Share February 1, 2019 Can i check: how come Tan Chong uses mineral oil for 1K servicing? I called up to ask, and they said 5k also. only 10k then use synthetic oil. I find this very strange. Anyone knows the reason why? If they use synthetic oil, then i assume will not even need to go for 5k servicing - which is what a lot of other ADs do.
