I heard volvo brake pad and brake disc are cheaper than jap car.

But when coming to servicing at workshop, ws tends to charge higher labour for conti car.

Dont know why they have such a narrow thinking.

what does it mean that 120 guaranteed coe? meaning that so long as paid deposit the car is yours? the sales guy was mentioning maybe add cash?

[confused]

Urm shouldn't you be clarifying with the wearnes SE if you are unsure what he / she means instead of asking the forum chaps to fill in your information gaps? [shakehead]

I am a new car buyer, asked liao but dont really understand, that is why sought help here. This is because if the agent cannot get me a car at that price, I will have to keep my options open and check out other cars.

If it is a guaranteed COE i.e, if they quote 120K all in (coe etc) and no need to "top-up" make sure it's written in the sales agreement. Also make sure no "admin" fee if after 6 bids they cannot get and you choose to drop the purchase.

He don't want to put in, don't sign. Simple as that.

if say guaranteed then yes,

but when you'll get depends on whether it's X number of bids guaranteed or immediate...

"guaranteed" means will definitely get the COE,

only question is after how many bids / or immediately (using Open Cat COE).

From your questions:

Yours is not a guaranteed COE

If you already sign then its hard to back out from the buyers order and agreement form.

If not, can renegotiate for a guaranteed COE

Otherwise ask for only 2 bigs non guaranteed so that you can still go to other cars if this do not work out.

There really treat you like carrot.

Wiper at the most below S$80.

A/c filter original cost less than S$40.

When I was driving a Peugeot 308 the last time, autofrance charged me 100+ for wiper blades too. I guess that is what u pay for if you get originals...

how is it then that the other forumer can get guaranteed at 120 while I cannot? me newbie?

The agent is wasting my time. should I call and ask that if he cannot gurantee it, I would like my deposit back and I go for another make instead?

oh tyres no la... haha. Oil change outside abt 20-30 for labour if you provide the parts yourself.

120k is guaranteed coe but 6 bids.

the servicing package is slightly more ex than Jap cars but I think wearnes services not bad right

i see. 4 servicing that means each is about 470.

20 - 30 seems very reasonable.

Based on $120k, i would say u cannot get car unless COE drop significantly as their cost price + COE at 60k oredi $120k. I doubt Wearnes is in the business of giving away their V40s at cost price and their margins are around $20k onwards.

See the attached LTA cost breakdown. Based on the previous $77k COE, the cost price of the V40 D2 oredi $137k. U can do the math based on COE prices.....

Diesels are generally good when you do a lot of long distance driving.

If you're just doing stop/start short distance driving, there are other things to consider.

Maintenance may not be that cheap either.

If I am not wrong, the promo is for basic v40 d2, OMV abt 20+k. Not the v40cc d2 with OMV 30k. But 120k comes with conditions?
