Any one know about the new Infiniti Q50

Indeed... I just moved back from 2 years in the USA 2 months ago. Infiniti Q50s are priced between the C-Class / 3-series and E-Class / 5-series in the US, and the default engine option is the 3.7 litre, which does 0 to 100 in just over 5 seconds.. nice drive, to say the least...

There are still lots of older G35s and G37s on the road (if you go to a mid-tier used car lot, that's likely their highest turnover model), which does say a lot about reliability. Apparently quite a number of "zhng" options, and the exterior has aged very well.

in US, there are alot of old gen infiniti coupes running around..

It's actually Nissan Skyline 350GT rebadged as Infiniti because more Atas mah haha

In my personal opinion, the C180 has a proven track record for the most reliable continental and it has a higher prestige value than the Q50.

Don't disagree about prestige value, but it boggles my mind the amount of $$ we face conscious Singaporeans would pay just to drive one of the marquee brands.. myself included haha.

If I am not wrong, the margins that the ADs make of some of the relatively basic and common models (e.g. E class or 5 series), is probably enough to buy a brand new Q50 in the states!!..

And that is on top if the $50-60k that goes to the govt.

So think about this, every time someone buys a big Mercedes, he is actually buying 3, one for himself, one give to govt, one give to his AD.

Uniquely Singapore! [laugh]

Black one at my office (Harbourfront Tower 1) car park. I think black looks really good on the Q50, esp. the front.

Hope you are right about the brand :) And if they can quickly introduce the Q30, QX30 and Q60, that ought to help too!

A few years from now I won't be worrying about re-sale value - the brand here should have a niche recognition, a name for quality (fingers and everything crossed) and be more widely seen. Just saw another silver one yesterday (ED *** * or something like that, Shout Out).

You're right, Wearnes are doing a good job with the brand these past 6months or so, and Infiniti are doing their part around the region........flying a Q50 above HK's harbour, introducing a "Made in China" Q50L for the Chinese market, offering 1wk test drives in the UK (How long you want? Just keep it a few days, no probs).

Sneaky feeling Infiniti are making the most out of their F1 relationship before Renault is destroyed as an engine manufacturer for Red Bull [:p][smash]

errr....wrong lei...the Q50 was launched earlier than skyline350 gt and 200gt. the skyline 200gt is the rebadged version of the infiniti Q50... even i dont own (my wife does) an infiniti knows that.

skyline is the pure sports line and infiniti is the international premium sports sedan line.

there is also talk that new 2019 2door gtr will be under skyline and 4dr sedan gtr will be under

infiniti ...

Did anyone has the problem where the date and time of the clock in the Q50 resets itself and the hands on the analog clock disappears? It happened to me twice and I have to set the date and time again for it to work again. :pissed-off:

Happened exactly to me over the National Day holidays for the first time......date on the clock reset to 01/01/2012 and the hands disappear but in the system everything is fine.

I took a photo and WhatsApp'd my SE so anyway, there's a software update coming in a couple of weeks to take care of this, along with new SatNav systems for those that have. It's all under process and currently testing by Wearnes.

I got my little TOMY model of the Q50 (I have one for each of my past cars) from ION Challenger on National Day.....branded purely a Skyline. Two colours available, a light blue and a Special Edition Bronze.

Yes, it's quite a subjective question... Especially when it's quite clearly a question on the extra premium you want to spend on or not...

Differences are:

1) 19" rim

2) Bose 14-speaker sound system

3) DAS

4) front sports bumper

5) sunroof

6) active lane control

Tot I could get some advice from those already driving q50s. And maybe why some chose q50 instead.

Thanks so far for all the responses. I do find this forum topic useful and have read them all.

I would go for the Premium and following are my personal opinions;

1) 19" rim - Really expensive with 19/45/245. Even more so with RFT. Of course it comes it better performance. Thinking of just changing to R18 aftermarket.

2) Bose 14 - speaker sound system - Great to have

3) DAS - This is very subjective and there is a lot of negative review on this. Most prefer the more engaging Hydraulic option

4) front sports bumper - no much difference in design

5) sunroof - good to have

6) active lane control - unless you are travelling on long journeys in highways. In Singapore some find it a nuisance.

Agree with you. Given the brand acceptance in the U.S. where even Honda is competing with the Acura, it's just a matter of time before Infiniti catches on.

Double edged sword though. Right now it has to fight for market share by offering a higher quality comparable to Lexus, Beemer and Merc against a premium comparable to Honda and Toyota. Once it catches on, I'm not so sure I will be posting here.

The above just a comment. Anyone know if there are after market satnav options? I'm looking at the Premium option.

DAS totally sucks. Hydraulic steering gives so much more confidence.

I travelled to us pretty often a few years back and see that it is quite popular. My us colleagues give good feedback on quality and reliability.

Thanks for the good input. I don't think I will go for the Sports then, given a high additional premium to it. Will check out aftermarket wheel change...

Most welcome, let me know when you book and what colour you decided on.

4 used q50 advertise in sgcarmart now.

Given the not so high vol of new q50 sold, r 4 used q50 sounds a lot? R there any fundamental issues with the car?

Windows maps available offline and now (or soon) google maps as well.

I got the inbuilt GPS from Wearnes, but <cough> didn't pay two grand for it......never would. They wanted 1.5k but, "With no USB socket up front, how to use a smartphone?"

Given its excellent 8" screen and tech car, without a built in gps was like, what the.....??

Is a shame there is no built in gps as std.

Its website also pretty misleading showing a screen with map and indicated Gps in it.

Both the non Wearnes units are the Sport model. I'm pretty sure it's because of the unnatural handling that comes with DAS. It takes all the fun out of driving.

In US, they brought back the hydraulic steering as an option because of this. I would definitely go for the Premium model because of the DAS.
