If it is manual transmission, gear box repair shouldn't be too expensive, right?

I recently came across a 9 year old manual transmission Nissan Sunny (year 2005) with 70,000km on its odometer. My experienced mechanic opened up the bonnet, inspected the parts and confirmed that it was a low mileage vehicle. There were also service records with Tan Chong.

I inspected the tyres and saw that 2 front tyres were manufactured in year 2011 while the rear tyres were manufactured in 2005. The rear tyres still had plenty of tread despite its age (although I agree that it was ridiculous to have two 9-year old tyres on that car).

I think there are people who buy cars and park in their house.

That car became my car. The only things I changed were the tyres, soon after I took over.

possible.

my workplace is 5km drive away only.

My office is 5 to 6km away too but my car is 180 plus K for a 9.5 year old

For a 10 year old car, how low is low?

My father scrapped is 10 year old car last year with mileage of 56k. Should be consider low.

For general Singapore use by a family, 20,000km per year is pretty standard.

To me anything that is 15,000km per year or less is low.

Notice that the adverts by dealers showing 10yr old family type cars with 80,000++km, thats very likely bullcrap.

That is why I ponder how is that possible. All cars in Sgcarmart are usually lesser than 15,000km per year. Car in Singapore is not cheap so most people will utilise them fully.

Dunno what you laugh at?

See I'm only in Singapore for 6 months each year to start with. Rest of time working O/S.

Cabs not convenient.

How to travel for holiday in Malaysia by cab.

I'm not rich btw.

My car also low mileage. I am also not rich. Its just that I like to drive for fun. But going to work I prefer to cycle or take public transport cuz its faster. On weekends my kids also love public transport so we take trains and buses everywhere. The car is for the times when I just feel like driving or when my grandma is going to the hospital for a checkup.
