Of course not true lah, take a photo, use cable to connect to PC, open as external drive to copy and paste over. Alternatively everyone can upload to Dropbox or google drive and download from PC.

OK, clarified with her. I must've misunderstood her, it wasn't the iTunes, it's the cable. She's using iPhone 5S. She says a special cable (not standard micro-USB) is needed to connect it to PCs.

 

So my point still stands - I don't need any fancy shmancy cable for my Samsung phone. Just a simple micro USB to USB adaptor that lots of people have lying around.
