Myxilplix Turbocharged December 3, 2014 Share December 3, 2014 Yah to be honest I'm now lost with the current tech. I'm planning to replace my pc with something more up-to-date (so that I can play the latest games ehehe) but when I started looking at the parts I was totally lost with i3/i5/i7+4-digit number. End up I just emailed a guy who put together a suggested build based on my budget and intended usage.
Ender Hypersonic December 3, 2014 Share December 3, 2014 I find technology moving slower actually compared to the 80s and 90s. Look at us now. everyone is just consuming technology, how many people in the world are actually creating new programmes, new things? Most of us got started with altavista, netscape and yahoo. Haha... altavista was the search engine before google.. Nice thread. This is retro, but not internet. Apple II Choplifter Thanks for the reminiscent. This is is full 8 bit color... 16 colors that is. Duckduck Turbocharged December 3, 2014 Author Share December 3, 2014 Is it fair to say, in the 80s and 90s, technology were mostly created to improve productivity. Typists no longer have to type a 1st draft, review, edit then type a 2nd copy. They can be sure to go home at 5pm zhun zhun. But it was not long before the typist job is eliminated altogether. You send a fax, instead of walking to the post office. Nowadays, new technology seem to be created more to replace our lifestyles ? next big tech wave is predictive AI & big data mining, computers will do the thinking for u, no need to even buy anything as your life is already preempted. Money will become worthless as everything will be shared service & anyone can get anything they want. The only thing to work towards is looking & buying a property in another planet/galaxy. Earth is passe liao lol
Duckduck Turbocharged December 3, 2014 Author Share December 3, 2014 So the actual big tech wave is inter-galactic travel and colonization. tesla's space x already leading the way in interplanetary travel... its a matter of time as humans have pretty much sucked earth dry of its resources liao... i researched on space law & its unclear abt land ownership n another planet, so i guess it means if u can find livable atmosphere elsewhere, u can "own" watever land u corner off lol
