Anyone tried installing the AVH-X8750BT with the 3rd party add-in GPS. If yes, will there be an additional GPS receiver module on the dashboard or where would this receiver module be mounted?

Which GPS map is used with the 3rd party GPS module? How is GPS navigation selected from the HU? Can GPS navigation be used with music playback together?

I cant confirm. I think is Papago ?

There's a Mode button to switch between HU and the GPS module.

and yes can be used together.. while listening to the music and navigating.

I have recently installed a 3rd party add-in GPS. It has a small square antenna installed on the dash board. the module was hidden though. the map i'm using is galactio and it's awesome!!! used it on my previous car too.

Is the Galactio map up to date and similar to the Android app that shows toll charges, min toll fee option, etc.? There is voice navigation piped through the car stereo speakers?

Any issues with it so far? Does it take a long time to orientate itself and get a GPS lock after driving out from a sheltered area?

Whats the price for this GPS module?

The galactio map is 1 of the most extensive gps map I had ever used. Super user friendly with lotsa useful POI. Not sure abt how similar it's to the android app cuz never use that b4. Yup e voice navigation is thru the car stereo, can be used concurrently when audio is been played.

So far so good, gps has no problem capturing signal quickly despite having vkool tint, which known to be quite a problem to gps signal.

As for the price, best is for you to check with your workshop as what I paid was bundled together with a system. You should be looking at a region of $500-$600?

I will highly recommend SoundWerkz @ Sin Ming autocare. The boss Kelvin is superb in his knowledge and will advise accordingly to your needs, priorities & budget. Workmanship & after sales service is top notch!! I won't say they are the cheapest, but definitely one of the best and money worth in the industry.

**note** I am in no way related to SoundWerkz. Just a super happy customers whom keep returning and this is my 3rd car that I engaged their service. ^_^

Bro, samsung s5's Mirrorlink is version 1.1 whereas 8750 is version 1.0. So by right it cant work. How did u get it to work?

I am having this problem cos my note 4 Mirrorlink is also ver 1.1

Unless u are talking about full mirroring using the HDMI adaptor?

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I tried again with an S6 with new Android Lolipop. I think they updated the Mirrorlink module. Now there is only the phone and music playback function. Rest is a blank, no apps. But the strangely the Sony Z3 still works with full screen mirror and on screen touch control. Only AA works.

I have stopped plugging in and out. Now I just connect my iP6 by Bluetooth for phone and music playback. Spotify and MeRadio works, just no album art. Less eyes on the HU.

The popping sound could be due to capacitor failing, better have it checked or replace the capacitor before the amps are damaged.

I am now using an external amp and am still getting the occasional pop even when the HU is switched off.

Wonder what is wrong.

Have a read through the articles.

Get it checked by a good audio workshop. They should be able to troubleshoot this issue.

Hi,

I'm currently using the 8650BT ver 1.08 since Jan 15 for a few months but since has this problem with Carplay only.

The Call & Message function are working except the sound from the speaker is muted. Receiver can hear me but I

cannot hear any sound from the car speakers. Tried reset many time and even with different Iphone of different version.

All other functions such as Music, Navigation,  Apps are working.

Just sent to Pioneer service centre for service last week and according to them the turnaround is a very long 3-4 weeks.

Anyone experiences this ?

Thanks!

Does this head unit support Android 6.x Marshmallow on the Nexus 6P or iOS 9.x on an iPhone 6s?

This head unit is 10 months old already. Anyone looking forward to the 2016 model?

go back to your installer. The fix could be as simple as a resistor, i think.
