  1. This is the replacement model for the aging A4 (yes, you read it correctly, no typo). So is the A4 dead? Why not really. The reason for the new name plate has to do with Audi's new name strategy, where odd number are reserved for ICE model (petrol and hybrid) such as A3, A5, A7, Q3, Q5, Q7, while BEV will be allocated with even numbers, such as the new Q4 and Q6 e-Tron, got it? The new A5 comes with a fresh look, updated tech, and a pair of perky ICE engines that Audi hopes will keep drivers happy no matter their budget. The base model has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that sends 268 horsepower to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Variable turbine geometry for the turbocharger up the engine’s efficiency (actual fuel economy figures are TBD). The new S5 has a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 sending 362 hp to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch. It's the first time Audi has used this transmission in an S5. Its Quattro all-wheel-drive system is hooked up to a Quattro sport differential with torque vectoring. It's the first of many cars to use Audi’s shiny new Premium Platform Combustion architecture, which is set up for front- or all-wheel drive, as well as straight-up gas or hybrid powertrains. Let see how the new A4 looks like in a few weeks time. S5 Sedan (Liftback) S5 Avant (Wagon)
  2. Source: https://www.motor1.com/news/722457/vw-invest-billions-gas-engines/ It's fair to say the transition to EVs isn't going as some automakers had projected. Several car manufacturers are delaying their lofty goals to become purely electric in the foreseeable future. Just last y, Volkswagen estimated that EVs would account for as much as 80 percent of annual sales in Europe by the end of the decade. The so-so reception of ID models has prompted VW to revise its strategy. Of the €180 billion ($196 billion) set aside in 2023 primarily for next-generation EVs, the German brand will now use one-third to continue the development of combustion engines. The announcement comes from Arno Antlitz, the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at the Volkswagen Group. The company intends to spend roughly €60 billion ($65 billion) to "keep our combustion cars competitive." Speaking at an event held by Reuters in Munich, the CFO and COO added that "the future is electric, but the past is not over. It is a third and it will stay a third." It's a stark departure from the previous plan announced in late 2022 to build and sell only electric cars in Europe from 2033. Last year, VW brand boss Thomas Schäfer referred to ICE as being "old technology" in the context of e-fuels. He described the discussions surrounding synthetic fuels as being nothing more than "unnecessary noise." That's despite the fact fellow VW Group brand Porsche is actively involved in producing synthetic fuel at a factory in Chile. Other high-end marques from the VW empire are also keeping a close eye on how sustainable fuels evolve. Bugatti is even thinking of designing fuel stations that could be installed at the owner's home and filled up with synthetic fuel. Lamborghini believes the combustion engine could be saved by making it run on something other than fossil fuels. Bentley is also exploring nearly carbon-neutral fuels. Speaking of the Crewe-based marque, Bentley has pushed back its objective to become EV-only by 2030, delaying it by three years. Similarly, Ford no longer thinks it can go entirely electric in Europe by 2030. Aston Martin recently reversed course as well and will continue to produce cars with combustion engines into the next decade. It's clear that more and more car companies are reevaluating their EV strategies as people aren't willing to let go of ICE just yet. Automakers are in quite a predicament because emissions regulations are getting tighter, requiring investments to make gas engines run cleaner. At the same time, the electric offensive from China is a cause for concern for global players.

  8. https://www.todayonline.com/world/woman-cashes-selling-her-urine-buyers-making-ice-cream-it-1794001 KUALA LUMPUR — A former professional photographer is now cashing in from selling her urine. Ms Kactus Kutie, who began making adult cam videos in 2016, told Daily Star she has a steel bladder and some of her peeing videos can go on for as long as 10 minutes. “My first video was of me peeing by a creek — a very short, very simple video but that was the catalyst for people ordering pee customs from me.” “I peed in bikinis, my underwear, overalls, trash cans, flower vases, outdoors, and so much more!” It is unclear where Ms Kutis is based. Ms Kutie said she sells a 88 millimeters medical cup of urine for £52 (S$95) but gives discounts to customers who want to buy larger volumes. She claims her customers have a whole host of uses for it, with one person even using it as a “popsicle”. “I also sell custom videos of me filling the cups if my fans want to see how it was made,” she added. On her secret for being able to produce so much urine, Ms Kutie said she usually drinks at least two giant cups of tea and one of her reusable cups of water. MALAY MAIL

  10. About Android Auto Mirroring, CarPlay has been working fine but until Apple finally is happy to include other third-party navigation (rumoured end 2018), Apple map is crap - it's bringing me to timbuktu most of the time.. Recently trying to connect the HU with Mi5 but have not been successful. For those successfully using the mirroring, 1. What's the phone model please ? 2. To establish the connection the first time, do you need a USB cable to port 2 ? The manual doesn't say there's a need for a cable - just need to establish BT connection first. 3. Was a second USB cable included in the original package ? Thanks.

Rear door with coxial speakers Thinking of either upgrade to 3 way and change sub to active sub or just change a better 2 way component speakers. Any recommendation ? If change to 3 way , budget for speakers and active sub about 1k Or change 2 way comp speaker budget at $500
  17. hi, just installed an active sub below my seat. than i realised that my front speakers are too weak to be blasted hard becos they are stock. so i went to upgrade the stock speakers to hertz speakers. after this, i was told that my stock head player has no power to drive my expensive front speakers to the optimal performance. and now, looking around for a amp to power up. after spending so much $$$ and time on all these upgrading, all we wanted now is to enjoy the music with good quality sound. so what media do you all use to play your music? is the SQ from a MP3 good enough? where can we get high quality music CD? TIA
