Probably the reason MI didnât fix the solar film as only 1 out of 10 buyers feel that is a issue, they lose 1 unit to Mazda 6.

Hi mycar,

Problem is that buyers may not be aware of the risk and fix on their own or not even aware there is no solar film until they own it and wonder why their new subaru cars are so hot comes usual hot weather.

MI has plenty of legal experts more than you and me and if they do not take this risk, it is pretty dumb for buyers to do so and fix solar film on windscreen on their own.

No axe to grind with MI and I do love my forester xt if you read of my non performance modifications done till date but it was not to be having 2 subaru cars in the family but hope this sharing helps buyers to be aware and not end up on the short end of the stick.

Btw, no reason for MI to lose even 1% of sales unless there is genuine risk for not doing so.

Cheers.

Richard

Make that 2. My bro went to look at the Forester but after the SE told him cannot fix solar film need to sign disclaimer and he does not like the outgoing Forester. He walk over to Mazda before car expo eurokars lelong the Mazda 6 @ 97500 5 years warranty, my bro gt the Mazda 6.

Hi Alex,

Good to know the SE at MI is steady and informed your brother upfront ... would be terrible that some SE are not even aware or SE choose not to inform to secure the sales.

Frankly, I still think MI should take up this risk and not let the buyers of subaru cars do so since most if not all their cars are with eyesight system .. they are big enuff to get AIG or other companies to cover this which we buyers cannot and believe they will do so when they start losing more Sales.

I cannot imagine any car owners not to have solar film in Singapore while I had even installrd 2nd Zen layers even after 1st layer of top end 3M crystalline one. Subaru cars not tinted like toyota, merc etc. and forester does have big nice windows.

Cheers.

I can confirm that water does trigger it. Drove over a big puddle the other day and the sensor got triggered.

Have nv gotten beeps often during raining days though. I have ever gotten some random trigger only once in a blue moon. I would assume it's due to leave, or really some water hitting the sensor.

So yes please bring make some noise there if often happens to u

I do not recommend to install the auto fold.

Many of the older car auto fold motor already spoil. Mine also spoil after 2yrs+ on right side.

I will suggest just press the fold button on tighten space.

Hi Tohto,

Mazda 6 2.0 executive comes with auto side mirror folding as standard and seems Subaru's are not as robust then.

Cheers.

Hi, bros here did the auto lock car after driving off? From MI or buy from stockist n install outside advisable?

Hi Mui,

Do consider sgd150 one from carousell seller .. that one has added safety feature of flashing hazard light whwn door opens to warn oncoming cars and also flashes at abrupt jamming of brakes.

Cheers.

Hi baxter,

All such 3rd party sensors aka nothing to do with Subaru but tiong quality regardless local Subaru, Toyota etc. fails quickly as found various cars I had and ended up disabling it off especially after warranty since not worth to have it keep failing.

Only exception are original factory fitted ones and these are the ones that will show up at incorporated stock dash display which forester from MI does not since locally fitted.

Cheers,

Collected my new FNA today. First observation is the uv film. My hands was baking on the steering wheel on my way home from MI.

Despite parking in mechanical carpark, the car felt very "hep" when I retrieved it compared to my previous car.
