Hi guys,

Has anyone here changed their 225/55/18 tyres to:

1. Bridgestone Alenza 001

2. Yohohama RV02

3. Michelin Primacy 3 or

4. Continental CPC6?

Would appreciate your user experiences, thank you!

My previous 3 cars all had factory fitted sunroof, never leaked up till the 10th year before scrap. Simple reason is even if the rubber did not seal properly (never happened), there is an internal drain channel that drains water out of the car.

Park where?

Sheltered car park or open space whole day?

What car are u driving now?

How much they offering? 20k difference from selling direct to dealers yourself?

The 3k discount don't sound significant now.

Hi Fooman,

Primacy 3 feom europe or primacy 3 ST from thailand ? Quiet one is the latter

Cpc6 is noisy .. skip this.

If you want a bit more grip at expense of a bit noiser, michelin latitude sports.

Yokohama gave up a long time ago .. I will still with Michelin or Pirelli ... their scorpion verdes used in rover is quiet also.

Cheers.

Richard

For the Michelin, It should be Primacy 3 made in Thailand.

I'm also open to Pirelli per your suggestion.

Would love to consider Latitude but tyre shop mentioned doesn't come in 225/55/18 for our frosties and I would like o stay stock size.

Hence, I shall narrow it down to the Primacy or the Verde Scorpion.

Thanks for your insights and user experience, Richard!

If you can wait.. wait until Q1 next year to book. LTA announce Q1 will have more COE.

I feel if got new model, go for it. Else will regret.

Unless you are comparing the 2015 forester turbo with the 2019 Foreater NA then might be difficult to choose.

NA to NA, or turbo to turbo.. just go for latest model.

In 2013 when I see the new forester, the sales person offer me 110k for the precious gen SH forester when the new SJ forester is selling for 140k.. that’s 40k difference. I waited and buy new model forester in2015 at 127k when coe was 60k (I sold my 7.5 years old car for damn good price)

If I had gotten the old model forester in 2013 for 110k, even though it’s atill 17k cheaper ultimately, sure will regret and feel itchy...

Izzit.. My understanding is cat A will increase ~300, cat B will decrease 100+ ...

My heart is telling get the 2019.. though its a 22k  more exp.. heart will always itchy if certain areas are not fulfilled...  Was hoping for a sweet

spot price of ~108k to sign on the dotted line .. if not some additional perks, since no special promo even after the launch  [laugh]

Any sexperts know if 2015 car really only can sell as Scrap price? coz 3k for the trade-in seems attractive ...

I hooted the older NA. Waiting for COE bidding now.

22k too much for me.

Don't like the idea of insight too. Prefer to be more in control of the car. Plus the lack of solar film is a big turnoff.

Only thing I really dig is the rear air con, but it's not worth 22k.

Unlikely for the price to come down much. It incurs a 10k VES, so the base model is "only" 7k more than the old one if deduct the 10k. I'm expecting the price to drop 2 or 3k max.

The price difference is 17k for lower spec. i-L version versus current FNA. For the front windscreen solar tint, although Motor Image does not provide/approve this item, I plan to put-up high quality solar tint, e.g. V-Kool or Llumar, which in my opinion, should not affect the Eye-Sight operation. In a way, I am taking some sort of calculated risk myself. Also, the kerb weight difference between current FNA and i-L is only 13 kg, but the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration is 11.8 secs. and 10.3 secs. respectively. Anyway, i-S model is much heavier than i-L with the sun-roof.

But 17k base spec no rear air con.

If they specifically left out solar film, it must be affecting eyesight in some way. Be careful.

I think this is additional 3k discount, on top of whatever they will give for trade-in..

Does this make me a "sexpert"?  :a-dothewave:
