Hi Andy,

Hard to put the price cos all were done at different stages and part of my ICE.

Unfortunately, I had no experience on JB ws on any car stuff but that may change.

Will catch him with you if I do get the COE for the fxt and done some wrap work.

Cheera.

What are the recommended tyres that do not squeak. The stock tyres really sucks, squeak during U-turn and also when going over wet rubber humps in MSCP.

Whats ur tyre pressure bro... Edited by Andyngps

Hi Andy,

Even easier and cheaper ...my estima doors had been rewrapped.

Cheers.

The hard plastic on Forester's door panel always has been a gripe for me, never thought of leather wrapping it but it sounds like a good idea. Can PM your contact too and how much did u spend for ur Estima? Thank you very much :)

Hey SP,

Paiseh ..mine was done as part of ICE installation and dunno how much specifically.

Anything is possible and yes, must spend to cure the irks.

You can see that I cut out bottom panel completely away and fitted a wrapped fibreglass box and hence without the usual side pocket.

Will have to get the FXT first to see what need to be done.

Cheers.

Richard

Hi Bros,

Please let me know if my understanding that ALL subaru forester are built in Japan other than assembly work only at MI KL Malaysia is wrong.

BTW, Toyota has 16% share in Fuji Industries that builts Subaru in Japan.

Cheers.

In May of 1987, ground was broken for the SIA plant and construction began. The original 2.3-million square foot facility integrated operations from stamping to final assembly. Production of the Subaru Legacy and Isuzu pickup began on September 11, 1989. The plant was officially dedicated on October 16, 1989 with a week long grand opening ceremony. Throughout the years, SIA Associates have built the Subaru Legacy, Outback, Impreza, Baja and Tribeca, as well as the Isuzu Pick-up, Rodeo, Amigo and Axiom and the Honda Passport. In January 2003, SIA became Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. signifying the sole ownership by Fuji Heavy Industries, Ltd. SIA discontinued production of Isuzu vehicles on July 23, 2004, and began to build the Toyota Camry on February 28, 2007 under contract with Toyota. Production of the Camry ended in May 2016 to make way for additional Subaru production.

Just sharing:

WHY these part kits and how do they change my car?

  • Sway bars reduce body roll but do NOT effect ride quality.
  • Springs control the ride height of a car and do effect ride quality.
  • Shocks control spring bump and rebound and do effect ride quality.
  • Bush';s and alignment parts sharpen the chassis response and have varied effects on noise (NVH) and ride quality. See notes.
  • Braces, stiffen the chassis for improved handling and do NOT effect ride quality.

Singapore's Subaru Forester all from Japan (even though MI has sister company in Malaysia doing assembly for export to other parts of SEA).

MI knows Sporeans prefer Made in Japan.

Good points.

Probably those that say NOT affect more accurately mean do not affect directly, but still have some indirect effect.

Otherwise Subaru would not be so proud of its new platform/chassis's stiffeness which supposed to improve ride quality.  (Heard explanation is that springs, shocks designed based on rigid chassis or chassis that behaves predictably.  Hence, if chassis deforms in ways that springs, shocks did not cater for or not able to cater for properly, then ride quality affected.  So stiff chassis helps ride suspension components work properly)

Hi Bro Rich

Instead of SGP's ICON as your alter ego, perhaps you could consider this.....

Now, we do understand why you don't ride a Harrier, don't we? We suppose the crowd over there are beyond SEDUCTION or immune to the TOXIC/POISON that you're spreading here.  [pirate]

Yo Ho Ho!!! A bottle of RUM & Bro Rich is much appreciated HERE.

Hi Bro Gearstick,

No ego one but really respect Mr. LKY who had done more for my love ones than I what I can do for eternity.

Really din like the response of the harrier turbo and paying sgd35k more when spoilt by the FXT to the extend of forgoing unquestionable exterior visual appeal :( However, I also looking forward to work a bit on thr FXT visual appeal ..perhaps bonnet scoop, sti front/rear lips, lowered sti suspension, black ts a-d pillars, interior leather wraps etc.

Life is short and I work hard to play a little bit more to have ills of poisons ... else quite boring even though fully appreciates the short lived satisfaction of all materistic stuff but a bit here and there helps me to push on with life.

Indeed some rum, a nice sgd150 cuban and MP Z Series in hopefully FXT to see me thru another 5-10yrs into my sixties ..lol !

Cheers.

Richard
