I doubt so.

The hefty road tax of a 2.5l engine may turn off some potential buyers.

Our engine requirements here is much different in the US.

Hi Dach,

Indeed ... but more importantly, I am not sure if 2.5l NA is uniquely Subaru USA like my blindspot monitoring system and previous 2.5l NA SJ version that even Subaru Japan MAY not have and MI certainly did not have.

Cheers.

Hi jg2000,

Think MI being "big" against reported facts is not so "big" afterall and understandably MI cannot do much.

Cheers.

Agree small vs US and rest of world.

But bigger than if just SG alone which is what i wanted to highlight as reply to earlier post.

Basically big enough to ask for package customised to SG market.

hopefully Singapore forester still remain 2.oL Engine, as 2.5L has a significant increment of road tax, fuel consummation, even insurance, yearly expenses at least more xk, 10 years 10xk

Hi MQX,

MI sure have new "sk" 2.0l NA but the question is whether MI will/can bring in "sk" 2.5l NA announced for subaru USA for those who dun mind mentioned increased costs of ownership to fill the void of confirmed missed 2.0l turbo fxt.

Btw, my manager signed for the current sj5 FNA yesterday at great price of 93.8k but opted for few ks more with 1k off for damned good sport package with front fxt lip, fxt front bumper, sti knob, leather seat wirh suede (though I dun like this dirty looking and dust magnet option), rear lips etc.

Cheers.

Hi Epsilon,

Indeed but more importantly, it is the greed of small benefitting group selling BS stories that I detest and sad even that some have to die.

I am an engineer at heart having overclock cpu, graphic card etc. and love to mod to convenient and learn myself but would not blindly get into such latest and "greatest" autonomous driving or stopstart features especially to trust my life in this autonomous driving which takes fun out of being in control and feeling alive driving.

Paiseh but plenty of time to kill now since on cruise at casino while CO fights the one arm bandit .. keke !

Cheers.

Hi Chucky,

Indeed not likely.

Will test out kaki's fxt with pink springs who bought my unused Bilstein B6 who just fitted them last week.

Please pm me if you are keen to join me.

Cheers.

Richard

Hi Richard, hows the test ride?

I don’t dare to join... if the pinkies and Biltein setup is better.. will spell big trouble for $3000 for me..

So I donât try donât know.. stick with my cheaper $1400 Cusco Touring A

Hey Bro Chucky,

Still somewhere in the sea otw way home and reaching tmrw noon ... will only test drive next week.

Haha ... if indeed bilstein b6 and pinkies meets or exceeds your expectation, it should be good news for you as it is to me to take .. keke !

Frankly, I doubt so especially owner bro advised me that initial runs are harsher than stock which means not likely meeting my expectation ... we may be safe and saved ...lol !

Cheers

Doubt it or not, if fuji heavy industries is not gg to put a 2 litre into the sk forester, no way you are getting one.

Again, sg market is too small for any car manufacturers to consider for their lineup. Right now, there is no news that the sk will comes with a 2 litre. Maybe in the future but if not, MI have to focus on the xv for sales. I agree that 2.5 is gg to be hard to sell in sg. If subaru japan is releasing a 2.0 sk in jp, like their jdm sti, you can get one via grey import but not through MI.

I have been following this forum for a long time, planning to replace my old Terios 7 this year or next.  The US car market is always different from others.  Even the current 4th gen fna model is only offered in 2.5L engine in USA (besides fxt), whereas 2.0L fna is available elsewhere including SG.  So, for the new 5th gen fna model which is anticipated to reach SG in 3Q 2018 (according to MI sales people), it will surely be offered in 2.0L fna engine.  It is unlikely to be 2.5L fna - this is reserved for Outback 2.5 model in SG.

Forester is doing a roaring sales in SG, and MI will definitely want to continue its good sales record by offering in 2.0L fna engine.  Maybe, just maybe, MI could offer 2 trim levels - 1 base and 1 high-end model loaded with all features (10-way power driver's seat?) and safety goodies.  Just look at Subaru Malaysia where there are offering 3 versions for current Forester model:  2.0i, 2.0i-P and 2.0i-S.  In the mean time, I have to make do with my ageing trusty workhorse.

strangely why US 5% buy FXT, exactly the oppositeï¼ Singapore 20% FNA and 80% FXT

Hi MQX,

Think USA owners have much more choices of conti counterparts like bmw Xs, merc GLCs etc. due to smaller absolute amount difference.

Those buying forester is for utility which SUV is about and not for performance with the latter inclination presented with many other choices ... and theirs is also FC consideration.

Only we in sgp expect forester to be a performance car and hence the search for perhaps elusive ride enhancement against the original design intention of a SUV.

Cheers.
