New Hyundai Tucson

I'm interested in the Tucson, and have gone through the last few pages of this thread and some reviews online. I have a few questions about the car.

1) It seems like the DCT is the main issue people have with this car. Has anyone with the FL version encountered any problems with it? What has me worried (after watching the video posted upthread), is the advice about stepping on brakes while on a slope, and not creeping in a jam. While I don't do the former often (only sometimes), I do drive in the morning KPE jam everyday, and I often only use the brakes and ease off them as much as I need to keep up with the car in front of me during the jam. Would this reduce the longevity of the clutch? And by "longevity", I mean lasting at least 5 years wiithout replacement.

2) Is the car cabin quiet? I've seen reviews that say it is, except for tyre noise. My current Honda Vezel is quite noisy (especially in the KPE tunnel), and I'm wondering if the Tucson is any better.

3) Is there a surround view camera (360 deg)?

4) Does it come with the AUX port?

5) How is the pickup? Is it responsive?

Thanks in advance!

1) if you ok with the 2.0L version, you wont have all these concerns and issues already :)

2) yup the cabin is quiet

3) nope but can easily install locally

4) yup

5) depends on how hard you floor the accelerator, but also can tune locally so no issue.

Hope this dct issue not as bad as the VW one.

Just a note.... Most of us are very new to dct and most drive it like an auto. Some. Of the negative feel are actually quite normal for those drivers who had driven a manual before. It is not slippage but dct doing a half clutch...

For now, I quite like the dct on my tucson. Faster than my 8sp on my 5 Series.

Anymore newer recent Tucson FL owners would like to join our local non-official watsapp chat grp can PM me for more info.

Hi, Kurrypokteh.  Tried to PM you but keep getting error 404.  Don't know why.

How can I get into the Tucson WA group?  Thx.

I feel like the rear ventilation is rather weak, i.e. there's not much cool air coming out of the air vents compared to the front air vents. Is this normal, or is there some setting I can configure to improve the air flow?

Also, anyone knows where can I find touch-up paint for the car? My colour is Dusk Blue.

Thanks.

The only workaround for this, is to make the front vents not completely open, and leave the rear vent completely open. This way, more cool air will be forced to go to the rear vents. I do this when i have passengers behind.

When i'm alone, or there's noone behind, i do the opposite.

Unfortunately it is normal for any makes that feature just a simple air duct to the rear.

The blower fan is located all the way inside the dashboard. There's really not much air pressure left by the time the air escapes from the rear vent. The distance is long

Some higher end models featured extra blower located near the rear vents, but that's another day liao

Never thought of that before... will try it... thanks...!
