To be honest I think the old app looks better. The new app that "landscape" is pretty ugly.

A iRoad v9 question.

I have it installed when I bought my car last May.

The park mode feature is turn on but I don't see it recording.

Traveling overseas next month, the car is likely to leave unattended for 2 weeks, hope to get the park mode feature works but can't figure out where is the problem? Can anyone advise?

Better unplug the power cable. My battery drained out after I keep it on for parking mode after I returned back from oversea.

Alternatively, you can install a power bank which my friend did.

Until today, my IRoad Apps for Android unable to connect. I did re-install the apps again, but it didn't work.

Quite a disappointment.

Most likely your installer didn't wire it to record in parking mode though you to park mode (The power to the device is cut off once engine is off). Your installer maybe afraid that if wire to record in park mode, your battery will drain off when car is not driven for more than 2 weeks unless additional battery pack is install.

Thanks for the info.

Additional wiring is needed to run the park mode, I see.

Will drive my car to nearest audio store to run the wire with additional power bank.

I am just wondering why and the dashcam suppose to be turn off as well. Just wanna check is this normal or the installer had install wrongly the wiring to the fuse?

Hope the senior here can advise. Many thanks!!

For V9S1, The parking mode cannot be turn off. If you turn off the motion detect, it'll record in normal mode. To off the parking mode is to physically off the device. I get installer to install additional switch for me to off the camera.

Hi Leo72 thanks for the explanation.  So, there will be no use of the function turn off the parking mode as it still will record as normal once you turn off it. I just discover one thing, if you set the parking mode timer to 3 hours, and after 3 hours it will be automatically shut down the device. Maybe this is good for those who do not want to have long hour of parking mode.

I am a new user of IRoad Dash Cam. Just thinking, if our mobile wifi is link to the wifi of the Dash Cam, is it possible to surf the web, or we have to disable the wifi of our mobile to use LTE data from the mobile ?

I think we can switch off the wifi on the device by pressing and hold the power button for 1.5 secs, and there is a "ding"  sound notification and with voice saying the wifi is turn off. Do the same again if you want to turn the wifi on. Normal drive activate the recording not necessary to turn on the wifi.

Note: When 'Wi-Fi OFF', the consumption power is reduced by 0.3w and the device operating time is increased by 10%.

bros... I recently bought a 2nd hand car which the owner installed an Iroad V9.

However I have problem registering the dashcam with the mobile app... I've inserted the wifi dongle. The app can detect the dash cam. But when i tap on the connect it will just load and time out. Anyone can advise me?

Thank you.

Today I went down to Corvit because my Q9's Wi-Fi stopped working again like it did in January. :TT_TT:  (https://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2699508-iroad-in-car-camera-recorder-users/?p=6599880 )

This time a very helpful Glenn assisted me.  Thinking that the USB Wi-Fi dongle is dead like it did last time, I was ready to buy a new one from him.

Glenn suggested instead we remove the cam and bring it inside the showroom for a test.

He quickly found there's no fault at all!

C'mon, I don't believe him.  After all, my iPhone could not connect to it and when I press the Wi-Fi User Registration button, a voice says "Wi-Fi Dongle not found" (or something like that.)

Well, Glenn tells me that was because I have not turned on the Wi-Fi function.  Turning it on solves the problem!

Wait a second, the Wi-Fi function can be turned off?!  I believe most of us don't know that!  I just checked; the Manual makes no mention of this secret function.  Also, many in this thread has been suggesting that we unplug the Wi-Fi dongle to keep the cam run cooler, stop your smartphone from connecting to it, save a little on power consumption, etc, when we could simply leave it plugged in but turn it off!  :yeah-im-not-drunk:

To turn on or off the Wi-Fi function, simply press and release the POWER button.  (In case you get confused, you Press and Hold the same button for about 3 seconds to turn off the entire cam.)

The cam works perfectly fine without Wi-Fi enabled.  I know because mine was accidentally turned off for months!

So go ahead and turn it off if you only need to connect to it once in a blue moon.  I can't confirm this but I guess each time you turn it on, you'll need to re-register the Wi-Fi <a simple process> with your smartphone.

Cheers!

Grin.

I suspect they only documented this feature for the X-series onwards.  Those of us having the Q and V-series don't know about it.

And hey, thanks for the instructions found in X9, for which it mentioned we should not press the Wifi Registration button again if our smartphone has been registered before.
