My average drive with higher city vs highest is averaging 24 to 25.

Last night I drive on DRCC from Sengkang to Eng Neo. 29.3.

Awesome! Looks like the computation unit inside the Prius is pretty smart.

I can only hit above 29 when I'm consciously monitoring the dashboard and keeping the drive at EV  [laugh]

Great choice! Same colour as me  [laugh]

Welcome to the club!

Thanks Zedane!!

Was hoping to get some quick advice from experts here .. I've been offered the pioneer 5850 system and an option to upgrade to the 8850 for $500.

Is this deal worth going for and what is the major difference between the two systems?

Cheers

Hi,

Try choosing the two units here and using the compare function.  From first sight it looks like SDCard and FLAC support is missing from the 5850, but only you can know if that's worth $500 to you.  Not sure if dual zone and password security are critical either.

I'd say the SDCard function is really useful as I have my entire music collection playing in the car in Shuffle mode.  FLAC is important if you have a good ripped collection in that format and are able to get that difference in sound quality out of your setup.

Good luck.

Guys im lost. The DRCC IPA only PI has?

PI Type A comes with HUD, Blind Spot Monitor, IPA, rain sensing wipers.   If equipped with Safety Sense P, will have DRCC among the other features.

There are PI Type S out there with and without Safety Sense P.  They will not have HUD, Blind Spot Monitor and IPA, but have DRCC among the other Safety Sense P features if so equipped.

Borneo Type A has HUD, no Blind Spot Monitor and IPA, no Safety Sense P.

Safety Sense P consists of a camera above and to the left (if you're in the driver's seat) of the rear view mirror, as well as a radar mounted behind the logo on the front grill.  You should be able to see the camera from the outside of the car.  For maximum comfort, you'd want to start up ignition, go to vehicle settings, and ensure that you have the settings for PCS, LDA, etc in the menu.   There should also be a toggle for auto headlight next to the traction control on/off toggle.  To confirm if the car has DRCC as well, there should be a stalk behind the lower right part of the steering wheel that looks like a cruise control stalk, but has a vehicle logo on top of the cruise control logo.

Type A with IPA is easily distinguished from the multiple sensors externally around the car.  Four on the rear bumper alone, one on top of each wheel well, additional ones on the front grill to the left and right of the logo and on the front bumper.  Other models will only have two reverse sensors on the rear bumper.
