elmoguy 2nd Gear December 25, 2015 Author Share December 25, 2015 i'm using two solutions... one is a strong, sturdy GPS/tablet/phone holder that sits inside a cup holder. Very sturdy construction and of course, cannot drop since it's held by the cup holder. Due to my odd situation with my phone model I use one of those windshield clamp types (similar to DashCrab FX) that in turn grips my actual phone cradle. Cool. Because in the market, the phone cup holder has limited height, and I can't find any that is long enough to reach eye level. I using exomount. But not ideal. I going to try out anti slip mat or 3m tape to have a 2 in 1 solution..... ↡ Advertisement

Kangadrool Supersonic December 25, 2015 Share December 25, 2015 Pro and Con of air vents mount: Pro: your smartphone stays cool; good for battery. Con: your camera module may fog up which will take quite some time to clear. So, you can't take photos for around half an hour. Not sure if there's long term side effects on the camera module/lens.

Thaiyotakamli Supersonic December 25, 2015 Share December 25, 2015 For E250 best. Just put portable gps in ur head unit screen. It fit just nicely but it will block monitor from showing media details display Alternatively put above dashboard above central aircon, view will be reduced abit but thats the best position for me

Mercury1 Turbocharged December 26, 2015 Share December 26, 2015 I use a clicon mount to the car pillar, personally I think its the best position possible. My phone is cradled there and its at eye height so my eyes are not off the road and it doesn't block my overall windscreen Downside is the mount only works for certain cars, and if the car has airbags on the pillars it can't be installed + costly.

Mercury1 Turbocharged December 26, 2015 Share December 26, 2015 Haha serious what a coincidence, I bought mine from an Aust company, its under the brand called Clicon from the below site. But you have to purchase the phone mount and the phone cradle(what holds the phone) separately which drives up the cost (not to mention shipping), My cradle charges the phone once connected so it was dearer then the static mount. http://www.holdmyphone.com.au/ The Clicon brand is under the parent company Brodit, another company carries their product in Singapore but I have not used their services and cannot vounch how reliable they are. The Aust company was reliable. http://www.mobilefun.sg/16153/by-brand/brodit/proclips.htm This is what I have been searching! Thank. Can you advise me which category is this product classified? Mercury1 Turbocharged December 28, 2015 Share December 28, 2015 Haha can't fault ya there, they target nutters like myself who die die must have it. I seriously looked around but no one else has this Pillar mount so lan lan Anyway just sharing since we are on the topic, driving back from Msia few days ago and wifey pass me my phone after checking the GPS. While putting the phone back the whole thing just came out (was like wtf), since was doing 120 on NSHW had to put it on my lap (wiring prevents me from passing to wife) till I got to the rest stop to put it back Seems the plastic part which hooks it has become undone, I will lodge a complaint with the company in hope to get a free replacement. Here is some pics though After using Lighter to melt and fold back the plastic I ended up not buying a Brodit proclip due to the absurd price of that piece of plastic... haha...
