Mercedes are thinking about signing McLaren driver Fernando Alonso to replace Nico Rosberg, team boss Toto Wolff says.

Fernando Alonso: Two-time champion says he is "committed" to McLaren

 

 

Fernando Alonso has told staff at his McLaren-Honda team that his "only goal" is to win a third world championship with them.

 

The Spaniard has been linked to the vacant Mercedes seat alongside Lewis Hamilton in 2017, following world champion Nico Rosberg's retirement.

 

But on a visit to McLaren's factory in Surrey, he said: "I believe in this project.

 

"I'm committed and I want to be world champion with McLaren-Honda."

there is very little to no improvement in 2016

iirc, there was a development freeze of sorts implemented in 2015, so means 2016 was essentially 2015 car.

 

so end up 2015 and 2016 similar results.

 

let's see what happens in 2017.

the car totally cannot make it whether 2015 or 2016

maybe Alonso know he not going to Merc already so take the opportunity to say out loud loud that he committed to Mac-Honda to make up for the GP2 engine remarks.

and if he does not win another title, its because of Mac.

i cant imagine both become team-mate again

there is no team no mate in Alonso-Hamilton relationship especially when both got equal car again

both sure cheong and collide in 1st corner
