Thanks bro.

Too many electronics for uncle like me but enjoying the ride.

Only sending in for 1K servicing next week so too early to give feedback.

i was drooling when i saw all those advance features like, park assist  sensors , the led headlamps, the blindspot detection all the nice stuff.

it looks fierce and sporty too.

Anyway was wondering , do we need to do a ceramic coating to protect the paint??

not sure if they will polish our cars before they release to us.

Supercharged

Think of it, the current model being sold was introduced in Singapore in 2014, while in Korea it came out in 2010. It may be a few years before we see the new Accent.

I believe the new Accent will get the Kappa engine (same as Elantra 1.4) but maybe without the turbo. VES not turbo friendly.

From what i read, both the current & new Accent are using the 1.4 Kappa engine, most market get the 1.6 Accent, only countries like India, Philippines and of course Singapore have 1.4 variant.

The current Accent 1.4, 4-dr CVT sedan model, including the 1.4 5-dr manual (and also the CVT option) hatchback model which KMC carried till 2016 / early-2017 all had the 100 ps / 133 Nm Kappa MPI engine.

In fact, you can see the Kappa word moulded on the front-left side (with both the Hyundai and KIA logos), cast-iron engine mount bracket, when you open the bonnet cover.

Yeah I opened the bonnet cover at the showroom and saw the Kappa word there.

Yeah, any advice on what we should do to protect the new car ?

Ok, cos the current model is - as you say - actually old model already. So pardon me when i saw the excitement here i thought somehow the new model was out but no publicity about it.

Guess buying a new car is always exciting for many :)

Like me ..... from taking bus to driving a car

Thought kia and hyundai is the same, but hyundai parts are cheaper than kia?! Lol. You are loyal fan of korean cars, owned 3 korean car model.

Yes, I only realised that Kia parts are more expensive after I drive the 2007/2008 Kia Carens.

The oil filter from Kia is more expensive than Hyundai, although both are same thing except different packaging.

I wanted to buy the original Kia ATF, was quoted much more expensive by per Litre packaging.

I ended up buying Hyundai ATF (4 Litre) bottle which is much cheaper and use it on my Kia Carens.

Maybe after more people own Accents it will become easier to find accessories haha.

I bought my Hyundai parts from Song Yi.

Enquire my Kia parts prices from Fong Yat (Race Course Road).

It will be good to do a ceramic or glass coating especially if you need to park outdoors.

Recently, I have also done a Ceramic coating 9H on my new ride from a freelance who do Mobile grooming even though my car is always parked at shelter at Home or Work.

I will also be sending my Dad's new Accent for this ceramic coating upon collection as his workplace and residential place are both outdoors.

Hi,

You may do a search and look for Local Boy Mobile Vehicle Grooming and ask for quote.

Actually I am also very excited, when I saw the new model, then bummer-its the old model.

I don't mean to put you down.

Actually,if it is the new model, people would be creating a new thread for it.

Nothing new. It's just facelifted only.

Just a boring car with minimal features, only saving grace is I'm driving the manual 5dr version.

For this price-tag, this current 2017 Accent is pretty "Value for $$" given the specs and features in it's league.

Even a car with double the price tag can be criticised and nothing to shout about to many car owners.

I would think that Korea made cars have came a long way as compared to the olden days when my Dad drove a 1987 Hyundai Stellar (1.6M) which is extremely big size and long wheelbase, and could bring the whole family up to Genting Highland.
